I fear this opening pair can embarrass Pakistan add in a tidy spinner like Price and its a perfect bowling attack to create an upset over Pakistan

What is Ashraful's problem? Is it something that the Bangaldesh management must get involved in? Coz it seems to be a confidence and temperament issue. All the talent in the world is there, barring the consistency.
plays pretty strokes that it, just not good enough for this level.

Chris Mpofu is back in the team. I'm pretty sure he would be average even in club cricket. FC average of 32 ain't bad I guess. Dion Ebrahim is a gun batsman for Hawera.

Mpofu was one of the reasons that I had completely lost hope for Zim cricket. When I saw him taking the brand new ball, sleep-walk his way to the crease and slant it in towards where the 6th stump would have been, I thought I had seen the absolute abyss.

Zimbabwe's over rate is God awful

Edit: Disaster avoided there

Disappointing collapse, still bowlers have done well and Zim have a shot at victory. Impressed by Vitori's figures though haven't seen any of his bowling

Ray back in tests

Haven't caught up with the highlights of the second day yet, but watched the opening day of the Test. Was hugely disappointed in Bangladesh's attack, even the wickets were symptomatic of numerous balls they sent down, short, wide and asking to be spanked to the boundary. It was only the fact the shots were very poorly executed that meant Bangladesh had any success at all.

Vusi Sibanda looked the pick of the batsmen, he played a couple of gorgeous on-drives, and looked set for three figures, till he just threw his hands at a wide one.

From the highlights you could see there was some assistance in the pitch, a couple that Robiul bowled went like leg breaks, but they didn't seem to persevere with pitching the ball up and accepting the occasional drive for four. I hoped for Bangladesh it was just on off-day, and they seemed to hit back strongly with the ball today, presumably a much more disciplined effort combined with a long Zimbabwean tail.

Zimbabwe hit back well, picking up three wickets, the important one of Tamim amongst them. Have heard people talking up the Zim opening bowlers. I've seen Jarvis play in the short form and was impressed with his pace even though he was a touch wayward. Interested to see how he goes in this Test.

Siddique is their best no.3 by a mile and has proven that. Push Nafees up to open the batting instead of Kayes.
Siddique's preferred option is to open anyway, and I think he'd be a better natural partner for Tamim. I'd just open with him; straight swap. I'd look at Hom or Raqibul (who I know isn't in the squad) for Ashraful too, obvs.

What's Jahurul's keeping like?

Yeah Siddique did start out as an opener so you could open with him. I thought he made a better fist of batting at 3 though.

What do you guys think about Brian Vitori?
He is the best seamer on display in the game that I have seen so far. And he dismissed an international quality batsman.

I went to bed before I saw him bowl to the right hander and cricinfo said he was less successful with this match up.

I've had Jahurul isn't the best keeper, certainly not better than Rahim. Still as a batsman alone I think Rahim would play a lot better and I reckon we should hopefully see someone come in and take the gloves off him in the future.

Lets play a game. It's called "How will Ashraful get out this time?"

I predict out caught at third man trying the ramp shot for 21.
A bit late, but I'm going to go with stumped from the bowling of Price for 69.

Ashraful has punished the bowling this morning, he has been lucky though.. survived a very close LBW, and nearly played on - I guess typical from him really.

Ashraful hasn't scored over 50 in Tests since 08.
Nearly kept the streak going, Prince's mate Sibanda dropped a catch. Just heard that it's only been 16 innings. Which doesn't quite sound as bad as since 08!

Moves to 53 with another nice boundary.

Well Bangers haven't played a Test in over a year or so I think?
