**Official** Bangladesh in Sri Lanka

Horrible series though from a Bangladesh and cricketing perspective, three innings victories from Sri Lanka is really pushing it. Plus the series against India wasn't much better. You have to ask yourself whether Bangladesh are gaining anything from this and whether they should be playing so many Tests if any at all. I don't know, seems like only yesterday they were doing so well against Australia and had finally 'made it'. Anyways, great professionalism from SL, should be a cracking series over here later in they year. Sucks it's only two Tests though.

Muralitharan finished up with two tailenders from Bangladesh. ****.
looking at the negatives even here... The analysis shows he has taken more Front Line batsmen than any other bowler in the history of the game...let the record speak for itself.

as far as tailenders go, Bangladesh tailenders or English tailenders -they are all the same...go figure ...

No doubt about it in my mind, but let's not start that debate up again.
I have no doubt in my mind the greatest is the guy who has taken more Frontline batsmen than any other in the history of the game and not tailenders and wickets from countries who play spin poorly to fill up their Tally .:)

And thats Murali -who is the greatest.

Like I said, I'm not going to get drawn into that debate again. I also know how biased you are, so it would be pointless.

Murali MOM and MOS, thought Sangakkara had a chance tbh. Not often you score consecutive double hundreds in a three match series and don't get the MOS.

Edit: averaged a mere 428.00 for the series itbt.

2 facts I have highlighted there speak volumes.

1 Who has more Frontline batsmen than tailenders to fill their tally.

2 Who has more wickets from countries that play spin very well ? (and not cheap English Tailenders let alone some of the better English players who are all pretty poor against spin) ..

I have no need for any further points to prove my case.

Ah...not that lnog away tbh. Hope it's on Sky over hear as it will be a cracking series. Shame it ain't 4 tests though.
Three tests would have been good, IMO. Two tests definitely always gives a "we're only playing you because we have to, so we're going to squeeze you in here on a really short tour and then send you back home" feel, especially when the two tests are played at obscure venues.

Who's taken 23% of their wickets against either Bangladesh or Zimbabwe?.8-)

Like I said, I'm not going into it. All that would happen would be another thread taken over by the Muralitharan vs Warne discussion that has been done a hundred times and in the end neither of us will change our mind.

Total wickets isn't the be all and end all though, by any stretch of the imagination. Stats can only take you so far really - minor differences can be put down to so many different things. Both are superb bowlers and have great records - stats can establish that. Beyond that though, they are simply too close to rely upon stats for an overall judgement, so it basically just comes down to personal opinion.

I would've given Sangakkara MOM and been severly tempted to give him MOS as well.

Murali reaches 700 at home in front of home fans at Kandy . Brilliant.
You are right, Jason. What a way for the man to bring up 700 wickets.

And now to hope that he can pass Warne in his own backyard! :)

Well done Murali, the greatest of all spinners.

I wish he didn't get 700 against Bangladesh, cus you get stupid comments like that. Look at the Zimbabwe batsmen his bowled to most of his career. His only played a half of Tests against current lot. He played mostly a batting line up that was Test Standard and overall better players of spin then say West Indies or England.

Can't wait to see him break the World Record live against Australia hopefully.
