The plan to cramp Ingram is an interesting one. Domestically he either just waits for a chance to flick off his pads or he comes down the pitch to make a half volley to cover/straight/on drive. He can be prone to the baseball slog to midwicket as well though.

We'll see if he's confident enough to do what he does domestically at this level.

Or alternatively he lets them bowl wide and smacks them :p

Have to agree with the rest of you in what a horrible middle-order it is with Broom/Franklin/Oram.

I'm a big-fan of Franklin but how has he suddenly become a Number 5/6 batsman? Franklin at 7 or 8 I could understand, but there's no way he's a number 5 or 6. If anyone was going to be promoted up the order, I would have thought it would have been Vettori.

Follow Franklin in domestic cricket much? He's a batsman now, not a bowler.

He's been batting 5 for years and years though for Wellington. That doesn't make him a number 5 at international level. Especially given his record. Switch his batting position with Vettori who's proven himself to be able to bat in the top 6 at international level.

Tough catch in the shade of the stand. Well taken. Great innings by Ingram though, well done to him.

Franklin in at 5, ahead of Broom.

EDIT: That worked well. Good stuff NZ.

I feel that Franklin is probably the most over-rated cricketer on this forum.

????

Vettori has certainly proven himself to be just about the best number 7-8 you'll ever seen (Gilchrist aside I guess) but when has he ever batted in the top 6 for long enough to prove anything?

Franklin on the other hand is a middle-order batsman now, to the point where maybe there isn't much point picking him unless he bats in the top 6.

I assume they are just juggling positions at this stage to see how everyone goes, Franklin always below Broom in my book though. Where to put Oram is a tricky one however...

Franklin is on this forum?... Nah but seriously Franklin is a pretty good batsman, and should do a good role as fifth seamer for this side..
That is all

McMillan ridiculously hard on Mushfiqur imo

What exactly is Oram's deal these days? He is batting way down the order for both NZ and CD. It's weird because with his broken down body you'd expect he'd be more focused on batting then bowling these days, right?
