agree with howsie on this one...how was broom ever expected to succeed when he was fulfilling a role he is not suited to? Batting 6 or 7 isn't his game. He's a top order batsman and a damn fine one at that.

We're 15-1 now after 5.3 overs. Ingram is 12*, Guptill 2*. Ingram's just hit two nice boundaries off successive deliveries.

Have to agree with the rest of you in what a horrible middle-order it is with Broom/Franklin/Oram.

I'm a big-fan of Franklin but how has he suddenly become a Number 5/6 batsman? Franklin at 7 or 8 I could understand, but there's no way he's a number 5 or 6. If anyone was going to be promoted up the order, I would have thought it would have been Vettori.
