*Official* Bangladesh in England

I guess the line up for the 2nd test will be the same, just because.....

But when Pakistan comes, Broad will pick Bresnan's place. Don't worry about the batting: Bresnan is hardly a better batsman than Broad is.

Bah, so much promise for an exciting fifth day :(

England having to chase say 220 in a session and a half would have been great entertainment.

Jeez, short and wide to Strauss first up. Talk abotu feeding a batter's strengths.

& follows it up with a no-ball. Great start.

This is pish from Bangladesh.

Inclined to have a little more sympathy with Shalkib's uber-defensive field settings when he gets his from his openers. Just woeful.

Made me laugh on the BBC ticker.

Former Middlesex and England spinner Phil Tufnell on TMS: "I was playing in a county match at Lord's once when we only needed one more wicket after lunch and the opposition needed to score 500. The umpire said to me 'come on Phil, just hit him on the pads - this chap's batting me into a traffic jam' and it worked!"

Cook sawn off again. Didn't look right in full speed and Hawkeye confirmed it.

When a batman is that far forward and struck highish on the pad I don't think you can honestly say there's no room for doubt.

Though I am often impressed by Test umpires when it comes to various decisions, batsmen being given out LBW on balls that appear to go over the stumps, worry me a bit. I've seen it too many times.

Top umpires should see this too and correct it!

I just don't see Bresnan lasting much longer in this side. Fine for 20/odi's but not tests. Sky are talking up either Shazad or Saj for OT (Given that Broad will not be playing) Any thoughts?
I dont see Shazad or Saj as legit options. I dont know why England are dicking around with selection. Given that they are already and these are the supposed options then Bresnan (as the man in possession) has to get the 2nd Test as well.

That's the game. Genuine improvements in quality from Bangladesh, in batting at least, they're really getting better. I hope we don't hear anything about them being "gallant" or "spirited" though. Their captain still smacks filth to point when they're trying to save a test match.

When you think about it, England are pretty lucky, they've had the opportunity to learn a lot about their bowling attack options and at the end of the day it hasn't cost them anything.

They are improving, well in batting at least. They desperately need to find a couple of pace bowlers to go with Shahadat,it is a shame that Mortaza is so unfit as he'd help.

As far as England are concerned it is a game when the stats lie.If you said before the match that they would win by 8 wickets and have a double centurion and the 3 pace bowlers would get 9,5 and 4 wickets each then you'd have said that was a job well done.Obviously from what has been said about the match on this thread it isn't as people are moaning about our performance despite a comfortable win.If it hadn't been for the rain we'd have won with a day to spare on time.

Would've given it to him myself (226, 36* & 1/16 a pretty good case, tbh), but it's been probably more of a test (ha, see what I've done there?) for our bowlers than our batsmen, so can see why they went for Finn. Plus he's a hometown boy too.

Banglas' batting is definitely improving, but their seam attack is, at best, holding steady.
