when he's calling the play he's pretty average, but when he actually talks about the game and the players he speaks well imo

at least you get the feeling he actually watches cricket outside of the games channel 9 shows

Yeah, basically. He's a far better proposition as a #7 bat who bowls 5 overs a game at state level. Not unlike Lawford, actually -- guys who strike the ball so clean, but will always leak runs when bowling to decent batsmen.
