Whitey you legend!! "Hmm I didn't do much with the bat today, might aswell destroy SA with my bowling."

Lewis looking good after injury aswell, was very dangerous early.

Pattinson & Denton a bit wayward.

White bowled extremely well last as well as the vics bowlers,he has matured and bowling a lot of different variations now.
I put my money on the vics winning it,for qld no symmo, watson?,hayden, hopes, johnson i'd say, hard to win games without those fellows.Qld usually crashes when it loses all its international players.Question is who will be the fifth bowler if hopes is in the one day squad, gather it will be stevens or buchanan.
20/20 will come up should be interesting see a few new faces.
On south australia they are in the absolute pits i don't think a team could go lower then them at the moment.

I hope we make a recovery after xmas, some new blood and the return of bollinger and henriques.
Obviously it goes without saying our one day hopes are shot,5 losses, doesn't compare with qld,wa,sa or the vics 3 losses, the vics and qld off 8 games.
Our focus should be on the pura cup,but we are at odds to lose haddin in march for the world cup,so our chances will be nobbled.
Haddin, thornley, jaques, katich need to churn up some big scores, the other batsmen(whoever they are) need to make a positive contribution, and our bowlers have to step up to the mark.

NSW have 15 players who have played test cricket is that the Strongest side in Domestic cricket history if you Include Graham Thorpe

For one Graham Thorpe isn't in the squad and secondly half of those 14 players are either out of form or in the Test Team. To win a Pura Cup, you got to have depth, it really doesn't matter how many Internationals you got, cus they hardly play a game. NSW has no depth, well no depth ready to play FC cricket. We did win our 5th striaght Under 19 Champions, so as long as those players got move interstate would show have some good youngsters coming through.

I know charminda.
But NSW has so many promising youngsters its not funny.Dissapointed in scott coyte so much promise yet so scratchy so far.
Daniel christian can go all the way.
I don't see the depth of youngsters in other states except victoria and maybe wa.
The reason the redbacks have made no changes is there is no back up,and there is little back up in the qlds side, watch how they go to pieces when they lose all their players for the vb seroes.

I'd have 2 changes.... Watson in for White, and Cullen Bailey in as the spinner

Hilfenhaus= the next Mcgrath
Hilfenhaus is a gun, and the better bowler of the two, but Drew is the commentators quintessential "next McGrath". I don't think we can have two in the one state side ;)

2009 Ashes sides - Hussey, Jaques, Ponting, Watson, Clarke, White, Haddin, Lee, Johnson, Clark, Hilfenhaus

Hilfenhaus has a hell of a lot more in common with, say, Matthew Hoggard than with Glenn McGrath. He's a bit quicker these days and obviously lacks experience, but they're fairly similar sorts of bowlers.

I just noticed on the cricket show that Krejza has moved down this way - interesting decision. Is he good enough to bat at #6? In the FC side Tassie play 4 quicks and have Hilfenhaus, Griffith, a fit again Wright after 12 months on the sidelines, Drew and Geeves to fit into the 4 bowling spots, not to mention Chris Duval who moved down from South Australia last year and deserves an opportunity. Butterworth and Doherty have been pretty decent as one day specialists this season as well, it's the batsman that have let the one day side down, so I'm a little curious at the move.

He's a no. 7, TBH. I think he's moved down because he's fallen behind Casson and Hauritz, as well as having MacGill in his way. Chuck in O'Keefe and O'Brien, who are better with the stick and maybe a little worse with the ball, and there's not much opportunity for him. Then you've got Doherty averaging pretty ordinary numbers in FC cricket (although a good OD player).

If Duval gets a game, you guys must be in strife. Although he'd be an awesome 12th man, has one of the best throwing arms in Australia.

I'd like to see Hilfenhaus have a strong second half of the season, and stitch up a Cricket Australia contract. He, Johnson and Tait will be fighting it out for a shot against Sri Lanka next November. Johnson a comfortable favourite at this stage. Much can happen though.

Interesting what you say there Jack I have always been of the opinion Krezja,Casson and Hauritz in a strong side would bat 8 or 9 but seeming as Tasmania dont have that particular depth he may have to bat at 7.
