I hasten there will be changes to NSW after this.
Gotta ask is it worth picking clark in one dayers anymore.
Jaques got shuffled down as NSW look for quick runs.
Bad day all round.
The worry tho clark 120 km's/ph
Another example of Foxtel's rubbish speed gun.

Anyone else come across any semblance of a PM's XI squad?

I've been told Nathan Lyon is in the initial squad but I can't find any confirmation online.

Birt will be the next batsman to be capped in ODI's for AUS, for sure I reckon.
Certainly in with a chance, selectors will probably go with Steve Smith IMO.

I'm starting to really get behind players like Birt and Nathan Reardon who go well in OD matches but are currently not in the Shield team.

Birt definitely should be next in line for the ODI side, I would have him ahead of Voges since we could use another big hitter in the side.

Massive dissapointment about Harwood missing the rest of the season. Hoping he does recover well, and Victoria stick by him.

Will be a big loss in terms of FRC and T20 for Victoria this season. Would many argue he was possibly the best domestic limited overs bowler in Australia over the past 5 years?

Steve o'keefe instead of beau casson,NSW some strange selections this year, hazelwood in front of ****ley on the weekend.

Don't know what Casson did to be dropped, tough call. But I would have put Hazelwood over O'Keefe, Smith was clearly the main spinner last game. But I guess they don't want to put too much workload on Hazelwood.

NSW 3-290 at stumps on Day 1 (vs. Tasmania).

Clarke on 92*, promising signs ahead of the 1st Test.

Jacques, Katich and Khawaja also made half centuries.

Casson struggling really, really badly to be honest. Has barely bowled in grade cricket this year and when he did was dealt with quite severely. Was ordered by the state selectors to bowl unchanged the other weekend in order to gain some rythum but clearly isn't happening for him, don't think the selectors were really left with much choice in the matter to be honest - first class cricket is a pretty harsh place to be losing the plot.

Saddest case in Australian cricket for a long time - the victim of absolutely diabolical man-management. I'm not suprised he is struggling after everything he's been put through by various selectors and there was obviously a massive lack of communication re: the India tour.

Feel sorry for the poor fella, because he's got potential to be anything. Can only hope he bounces back. At least he is making runs in grade.

Good cricket across the country today.

Victoria bowling really well at the MCG, great to have McGain bowling with control and taking wickets. I hear he wasn't gaining much turn today (unsurprising on day 1), but a friend of mine who watched him bowl today was raving about the accuracy he had, barely put a ball wrong all day. Don't wish for a one off test match appearance to dispel the fact he has been the most consistent spinner in domestic circles for a good two-three years now.

Great innings by Voges though. Taken Western Australia from a poor 1st innings total, to something about 100 runs below par. Will be interesting how the rest of the game pans out. It will be getting very warm in Melbourne over the next two days. Plenty of hard toil for the bowlers.

Not reading too much into the NSW total today, and the comeback of Clarke. That is a very average bowling line-up for Tasmania. Injury not kind to a state with limited resources. As useful a bowler Butterwoth is, he should not be leading a state bowling attack, and he should not end the day as your best bowler. Brad Haddin and Steve Smith may cause some serious damage tomorrow.
