Funny enough on paper its one of the weaker bowling lineup's they have fielded but each bowler has done their job thus far. Duval is having a good debut for Sa.
Yeah, it's different. SA, even when they were strong, have generally relied on the contributions of a couple of guns. Having an entire team of contributors is....strange for SA. haha They showed some signs of it last year and ended up 3rd so something's going right.

He in the futures cup side, depends how cooper goes, odd cooper playing in the middle order, borgas more suited.I guess he can always play for scotland again or shift states
Borgas in the middle order? No way. Too stodge. Scoring at less than a 50 strike rate, this week excepted, is unforgivable at Adelaide if you're in the middle order. Cooper at least has some shots.

Definitely is nice to see Bailey finally living up to his potential. Butterworth is still there which is encouraging, needs to go on now.

It's taken a few seasons but it looks like Simpson is finally starting to deliver.

Haha yeah, nothing unusual about a Bailey 60/70. Turn it into a 140 and we might have something new to talk about.

Well he can't do much apart from convert this score into a 100 atm. Agree though he needs to be more consistent and convert.

Just getting embarrassing for Tas now, 9/181.

Amazing how Dan Christian was recuited to SA as a hard-hitting batter who could bowl a bit. Now he has 5 poles for the game having taken a few last season and batted 8 this game (would be one of the better number 8's going around). Been absolutely miserly with the ball too and bowled a heap of overs. Nice that O'Brien has picked up some wickets too. If he snaffles 30 for the season and scores some runs, he's done really well I reckon.

Big worry, for mine, is that the part-timers/all-rounders are getting too many overs. Christian, Cosgrove and O'Brien have all bowled literally double the number of overs the front-line quicks have bowled in this innings. Not so much a problem for Christian and O'Brien batting at 8 but Cosgrove also has to bat at 4......

EDIT: 6 for Christian, Tas all-out for 184, SA need 75 to win. Smith to score 3/4 of them.

Yes great stuff from Dan Christian, really has turned his career around in the past 12 months.

With Cleary injured, natural for the part-timers to bowl so much. Really impressive stuff from South Australia, team to watch this year.

Christian definitely is handy with the ball, just wish he would start delivering with the bat as hes better than what hes shown so far. O'Brien definitely a handy spin option, still wouldn't have minded Cullen Bailey being given a go.

Lovin Smith, nows he smoking Tassie attack.

Haha, Smith takes SA to a win with 57* out of a team score of 76, exactly 75%. Damn I'm good.

Love this win. Good team effort with the ball, uncharacteristic from SA.

That really was an awesome call!

Good on James Smith, T_C would he be a certainty in the OD side now? I notice he didn't play a single 50 over match last year.

In the absence of Ferg, you'd back him yeah. He's well-known in grade cricket as a bloke who hits the ball hard, scores lots of 4's, etc. but I dunno if I'd say he's ideally suited to OD cricket. Sorta like Mike Slater in the way he spanks the ball along the carpet. Doubt he'd open but might fit around the hitters lower down, especially since Ken Skewes seems out of favour and, with the rains, doesn't have much form to speak of.

If Smith hadn't scored many this game, Cam Borgas would have been the logical choice but now, geez, you'd pick the guy in form, wouldn't you?

If Borgas was to come in it would be for Cooper seeing how he batted out of position and didn't score. Although I hope they stick with Cooper hes a talent.

As for OD, Smith and Cooper would be a good opening combo for mind, they worked well in the Future cup.

Wow, how did QLD get first innings points!

Good to see Hartley and Simpson in the runs.

Cooper batted the majority of his career in the middle order until his move to SA last year when he started opening in grade cricket and occasionally in the state set up, so not really batting out of position. Harsh to get the axe after 1 bad performace following 200odd in the future cup, but i'm biased.
