Jono will get his wish as Murali is close to signing for Victoria. Basically both parties are interested and just need to sort a few things out. NSW are interested in Kumar Sangakkara and Queensland in bringing back Brendan Nash.

High Performance Cricket Restructure

Cricket ACT today announced Andrew Dawson as High Performance Director. He will have overall responsibility for the ACT Comets program in the restructured Male Cricket Australia Cup Competition. Dawson will also have total responsibility and philosophy of all male & female High Performance cricket.

Mark Higgs has been appointed senior coach for the Comets Program. Mark will be responsible for on ground performance due to the fact that Higgs is still playing for the 2009/10 cricket season.

Cricket Australia has endorsed the appointments & restructure which will also have a strong male & female grade cricket focus, with regards to coach development & player recruitment. Andrew will continue to coach the ACT male under 19’s & Higgs will coach the ACT male side in the Australian Country Cricket Championships.

Interesting to see Higgs given the coaching role. Not the best move for ACT imo.

QLD could use Nash's experience.

I also think Cullen Bailey would be a good buy for QLD.

Anyone thinking wtf, why would we want him, well he's better then Dan Doran.

I find it scary that Doran was talked about as a potential replacement for Warne a few years ago

Spoke to dougal reid,ACT cricket.
Ashton may,tom thornton, mark delaney looking to go to SA maybe available for the canberra side.
Mark higgs will play in the cricket australia cup,1/2 players over the age of 23.recuriting players from sydney and melborne no names, squad named in 3 weeks.2nd xl plays in country championships.
Cricket australia cup 6 3 days,and a 20/20 week.
Womens team enters womens comp, how well that run will determie if canberra gets back in the domestic comp and the under 23's,and if canberra keep producing first class cricketers.
BTW change this to aussie domestic season 2009/10,please.

Thornton has been picked up by a Sydney grade club, he should still be available to play for ACT in the same way Adam Ritchard, John Rogers etc... have played 1sts in Sydney and Comets in the past.

I'm actually really looking forward to this summer, the domestic cricket should be good, plus the new signings and transfers (especially the signing of oversea's internationals - Mendis and the like) is good.

I wish Cowan stayed with us and actually had a chance to bat in the middle order, rather than opening and 3. Who will open for NSW this year? Khawaja should, IMO, unless he is going to bat 6, but Warner might be batting 6.

1. Mail/Someone I'm forgetting in Cowan's spot
2. Khawaja
3. Forrest
4. Rohrer

That should be the top 4. I have no idea about the rest of the team. Bowling attack should be good with Bollinger, Bracken, Hazelwood, Cameron, Henriques, Hauritz, ****ley, Bird etc all fighting for spots. Lambert can bowl a few too IIRC.

Doubt Jaques will get back in the test side so he will almost certainly open for NSW.

Face it ****ley was a star last year, cameron is a better 4 day bowler, and bollinger well, brakken had a moderate year 4 day wise,a one day option, gotta play your best team.
Forrest he has to get some runs and win back his spot.
Smith the keeper.
I would like to look at liam doran if casson not performing first few games,he had a gorrid season last year.
Selectors must pick on performance not reputation anymore or we won't win the shield this year.
Some players really lagged last year lambert, brakken, henriques, forrst, they need to perform in grade or i wouldn't pick them in my firsts side.

Pretty sure Bracken would be there, even playing one less batsman with Casson at 7 then 4 quicks could be how they go.
