Personal issues was cited as a reason for Pomersbach being over-looked for the Ryobi cup iirc (personal reasons also cited when he didn't play in the champions league)

ftr i agree with n00fers that Nev is a long way from a spot in the national team but that shouldnt be the case, the selectors would have him behind Paine and Wade but he should really be the next in line imo or at least fighting it out with Paine

There's no reason to suggest that Nevill wouldn't have been selected in the A side if he was fit at time of selection. The fact that Paine is not captain or vice captain means that this selection panel isn't as hot on him as the previous ones were.

If Haddin breaks his leg today, Wade would be far from a walk up starter for Brisbane also considering Invers' comments on him.

When the umpire gave a “not out” decision Clarke used the ‘T sign’ or player decision review signal intimating the decision should be reviewed by the third umpire. Shield matches are not televised and therefore a third umpire is not used.

It feels like we are slowly getting to a point where there are a lot more competent first grade cricketers than there have been in the past 3-4 years, especially if you were to add the players currently away with the ODI series and WA/Eng match. Maybe this is due to the move towards more batsman-friendly pitches than recent seasons. Of course this means nothing if none of them show they can step up.

Looks like I was right about Harris being crocked but not for the reasons I thought;

http://www.cricket.com.au/news-list/2013/11/1/sa-v-qld-bupass-day-three

Forrest, who made 129, vomited frequently at Glenelg Oval due to a stomach virus crippling the Queenslanders.

The latest victim is Test paceman Ryan Harris, who spent Friday at the team hotel and is unlikely to bowl again in the match.
The deck playing as expected; tough to take poles but tough to score runs too. Expect a lot of comments about 'grinding knocks' in SA this year. Not that I'm knocking the ground staff, the breeze flowing in over the Bay makes it almost impossible to keep moisture in the track. But yeah, if you want runs in Glenelg, be prepared to have to deal with slow and low bounce (and the ****ing primary school horn).

yeah saw that, and craig mcdermott was interviewed on foxsports news about the state of australian fast bowling. He was at the NSW game and mentioned Hazelwood and Hilf were bowling well, even mentioned NCN as a quality young bowler, made no mention of Dougeh
