That would be very interesting to see who they would select! Just for fun I'll pick my 4 players who I would try and build a team around. Of course the 2 NSW and 2 VIC teams are tough to work out and imports and Aussie reps might not be available again I guess..
See, I'd imagine that they would only be allowed to get first access to locals, not the international players.

Haha, that was probably the best over I've ever seen Saj Mahmood bowl, and it was probably one of the least important overs he's ever bowled - there were 40 needed from it.

My impression was that each team will get four players of its choice from its own state to build their team around.

So the two Sydney and Melbourne franchises will take it in turns in selecting those players from their own state.
It really should be 6 rather than 4. It will be interesting to see how it works out. NSW will be plundered by the other states, I imagine.

Unrelated to tonights game but is the continued success of Daniel Harris in Twenty20 come as real surprise to anyone?

Harris seems the most unlikely of types to have a killer Twent20 record. He is a modest first class batsman, and I can hardly recall many explosive ODD innings in his career. He bats so smart in this shortest format and has a real understanding of the importance of using the early field restrictions. Becoming a big fan.

With Harris, I'd back it to be a mental thing. Tends to be one of those who gets lost in his own head a lot. I've had a theory for a long time that he's a bit more leg-side dominant than he feels he should be and gets too hung up on playing straight, don't play across the line, look like an opener, etc. So when he has a long time to bat, he can get bogged down, churn about not scoring then flashes hard at balls which aren't quite there. Thing is, he gets a lot of power on his leg-side shots, the shot he played to win the game yesterday he's played a million times (usually successfully) in T20's and OD's but you never see him play them in whites.

In T20's, I reckon he gives himself permission to play 'slogs' like lofted shots over mid-on, flicks over mid-wicket and cross-bat swipes. I mean, many players do unleash shots in T20 they'd never consider playing in longer-form cricket (even Harris played his version of the ramp yesterday) but I reckon if he allowed himself to free his arms a bit more and bring a little bit of his short-form game into his 4-day cricket, he'd score a lot of runs.

Vic is the 4 players a rumour or is it confirmed, have you an article to back it up.
On overseas players know each side can have 3,with only 2 playing.
Mick lewis yet to be confirmed to come back next season.
I would think cricketers like ailheen beadle, tim cruikshank and ian moran likely to get a run for one of the sydney sides.

Oh okay, that's probably a good thing, I can take off Pollard, Naved and Gayle from my list.

Like Debris, I think keeping 6 local players would be better, especially if the Aus reps are playing most T20 games.

My night has been made, Fox Sports just played Sabotage uncensored, "I got this ****in' thorn in my side"...the only thing is they have this fixation for new Metallica, alot of stuff from Death Magnetic and also they play Fuel alot :\

We should totally recruit Jason Winderlich, could work like the Andrew Johns affair...but better.

For those watching, how was Rashid's opening spell? As good as his figures suggest?

Hodge playing on his own right now.
