well i dont see a problem with having Hopes in the team, having another all-rounder would be a positive i would think. But if he continues to perform well in ODI's even though i am a big fan of Hodge being in the ODI side i may well on support Jaques to partner Gilly at the top (presuming Katich starts failing in ODI's as well)

James Hopes is injuried and is unlikely to make the tour to NZ, as is Watson. But if two all rounders are out then they will probably give Thornley a tour spot as a all rounder option, even though he hardly bowls for NSW.

oh you talking about the upcoming NZ tour, thought u were talking about the aussie ODI side in general, but we'll see if Hopes recovers in time for the NZ tour he still has about 2 weeks. But my 14 to NZ at this stage would be:

Ponting
Gilchrist
Katich
Martyn
Symonds
Clarke
Hussey
Hodge
Hopes
White
Lee
Bracken
McGrath
Gillespie /Wright or Lewis - if Dizzy does well in the next 2 weeks i'd pick him...

What has Clark done wrong to be dropped...
nothing, but he hasn't done anything great to be retained, as a matter of fact he shouldn't have been picked in the 1st place. Australia would do better to have either Dizzy back or Lewis in the ODI side..

His only played a couple games, you need time to find your feet...

As a write, he gets Hayden out :D

This would be a bad loss for NSW. They'd expect to win every game where they have all their Aus players.
Have they yet won a game with full-strength team??

Pretty good match overall between QLD and NSW, the better side won. NSW really didn't bowl well enough. But it was good to see Hayden and Jaques play some quailty innings. Also Brett Lee bowled brilliantly today, probably the best i've ever seen him bowl. It was quite funny to see Glen McGarth get hit around the park, hopefully this trend continues when Sri Lanka tour here the ODIs. Unlikely though, but i can always dream. :D
