Sometimes, I wish I was born in a state that doesn't let Brad Williams get wickets! :p
Too damn right. Its a disgrace :@ I was hoping for Lehmann to at least belt him around, but instead he went out too. Granted not to Williams but still, it deprived me of seeing Williams get belted around the park.

Martyn's broken his finger agains, so the news tells me :(
Wheres the grammar police when ya need 'em? :p

Nothing but bad luck for Marto. One would think he would be out of contention completely for this summer and the upcoming tour to South Africa if the news is to be true!

If this is correct then this might mean Australia may have three guys out (four if you include Hogg) for ODI tour of NZ. Seems that Jaques could walk into the Australian team by default. Also it might give Hayden a ODI re-call if the selectors go that way. How long is Marto meant to be out for?

He's meant to be back for WA's next Pura Cup match, which starts on Nov 27

thank goodness was getting worried, but to me the next 2 weeks or so before the team goes of the NZ are very important for Jaques & Dizzy especially. If Jaques continues his good ING form i would pick him to open with Gilly in ODI's over Katich.

Also if Dizzy bowls well in ING matches in that space of time i'd have him back over Clark in a flash..

Once again, why isn't Phil Jacques in the Test side instead of Mike Hussey? The selectors are kidding.
Could it be that they're not ready to ditch one of Hayden or Langer just yet (which would be borne out by the length of time Hayden was allowed in the team when not scoring runs)

Therefore with Langer's injury they give Hussey a couple of games, knowing that dropping him when JL comes back they're not ruining the morale of the long term option?

I don't think it will be the right move to bring Dizzy back into the Australian side straight away. His still getting his confidence back and if guys like Astle or Carins (if he plays) take to him, then that could set him back even further. IMO they are better off letting him play domestic cricket until the VB Series atleast and let him get his full confidence back. Unless there are a lot of injuries to the fast bowlers, i would keep him play domestic cricket for the time being.

Why would it affect (let alone 'ruin') the morale of Jacques to step aside once Langer was fit?

yea looking at it that way, ur probably correct but in that case i would want Wright to be picked instead of Clark since i feel he would make a very good ODI player, but if anyone is going to replace Clark it will be Lewis

It's that man Lehmann and his body double Cosgrove who are pulling Redback butts outta tha fire!

Cosgrove missed out on a ton, but jeez, he's in top notch form.

Yeah, and I think he'd have to break alot more than a finger to keep him out of the NZ series. The report said he would also be available for the OD match prior - on the 25th.

SA v WA - MacGoffin gone, hallelujah!! Cosgrove cannot STOP scoring runs... Youd have to think SACA made the right decision to suspend him, it doesnt appear to have affected his confidence.

Maybe if WA put a Mars Bar in the middle of the pitch, they might have gotten Cosgrove AND Lehmann early.... :p
