Jimmy Maher - best Australian batsman never to play a test?
Has to be of current batsmen, easily, probably of batsman in the last 20-25 years (competing with Cox), of all time, maybe not.

Maher & Love's partnership now 207 and with Jimmy Maher declaring that Qld will not declar - Their next targets are:

Highest individual score by a batsman in Shiffield Shield/Pura Cup history:

452* DG Bradman New South Wales v Queensland Sydney 1929-30
That might just be pushing it a bit!

I don't see why. If Maher bats out the rest of the day, he could be well over 300, and if he continues to bat most of Monday, it is a realistic target.

Cricket.com.au says Love is batting with a runner. He just brought up his century, though, and Maher looks set for a double, currently on 196*.

No - too many other contenders - Jamie Siddons, Jamie Cox, Sam Trimble etc.

Probably in the top 3 Queensland batsmen never to play a test.

Queensland 1/388.

A Love(ly) century by Martin and a double ton to the captain.

105 overs without a bowler taking a wicket. It must suck to be a Victorian bowler.

This is great to, see, and I must admit I kind of feel sorry for Queensland, being denied by MacGill last year... Good to see them bounce back.

QLD have obviously prepared a flat deck so there isnt a result for the Vics.
If its so flat why did Victoria lose 8/106 on it.

Does it mean they can't bat, or can't bowl.

Bit of both i'd say, Surely someone could've hung around with Hussey.

Can't bat, but Qld have a better bowling line-up, can't bowl, but Qld have a great batting line-up ;)

Good on you mate - you have shown what many people thought was extinct - a Victorian sense of humour.

What do you guys care about the cricket any way? The party after the Commonwealth games tonight will be huge. (I should know - I was at the one after the Brisbane games)

The games went really well - congrats to Melbourne for staging such a big event.

Jimmy Maher out for 223 - his highest first class score and a great captain's knock. A 297 run partnership with Martin Love.

Qld 2/454.
