FFS Hodge. Out on the last ball of the day.

WA all out for 225, Vic 3-36.
Now in a worse situation...Western Australia has fought back in the opening session of the second day, claiming three wickets to have Victoria struggling at 6-92 at lunch in the Pura Cup match at the St Kilda Cricket Ground.

Resuming at 3-36 after Brad Hodge was dismissed with the last ball of the first day, the Bushrangers lost the wickets of Nick Jewell, Cameron White and David Hussey as they failed to build any significant momentum in their pursuit of the Warriors' total of 225.

Doing their best not to make the Pura Cup final.

Great crescendo in prospect for the Pura Cup. With rain forecast in Melbourne tomorrow, both Victoria and Western Australia look like missing out on the final. Furthermore, with the New South Wales v South Australia game meandering towards a draw, the Taswegians could blind-side everyone and jag a place in next week's final . That they just demolished Queensland, inside three days, won't be lost on Maher and Co.

Hilfenhaus continues to impress. With Birt and Drew and so on as well, Tasmania have quite a bit of talent coming through.

Rain is to fall overnight only unfortunatelly for Tasmania...

I only go to one place for weather info - the bureau themselves.

Forecast for Melbourne Issued at 1625 on Sunday the 12th of March 2006

Tonight and Monday
Fine this evening. Rain periods developing during the early morning, then easing
to a shower or two during the afternoon. A mostly cloudy day with moderate west
to southwesterly winds.

You're just as likely to be right, though.

Yeah, Mark Taylor, after watching him in an ING game earlier this summer, identified him as a possible Australian player.

I only saw him in the one ING game, but I thought he looked really good. Very simple action, great accuracy and some seam movement. Had the air of a shorter McGrath.

Lacks a bit in pace though, so I guess we'll see how he develops.
