Yeah I think the complaint about the tour game was actually the selection of the host team (no specialist spinners), not the pitch. Seems like it turned plenty.
Nah he called it a greentop bro

That's what doctoring is. Not just having your normal wickets be spin friendly. On the 2016 Aus tour to SL they were completely open about it, they even took it a step further and prepared a green top for Aus's only tour game and didn't play a specialist spinner in the side to give the home side every chance of winning. And they openly talked about it in the media. This actually happened.
If it's about the team picking no specialist spinner, what in the blue hell does it have to do with pitch doctoring anyway, which was what was being discussed. @Prince EWS Stop defending weak posting just to look unbiased ffs.

Yeah I think TJB is wrong/misrembering slightly. There were complaints about the net pitches and the tour game being dog acts at the time, but I think the complaint about the tour game was just that no proper spinners were picked, not that it didn't turn.

FFS stop trying to so hard to look for errors in everything I'm saying. The pitch was nothing like the Test pitches, deliberately. It was way more seam friendly. You took the effort to look at the scorecard and couldn't figure that out?

These are facts. You are the one so biased you can't accept it. And stop attacking my "posting" which in this case is completely above reproach* because you don't like me

*oh you don't like that I called a wierdly seam-friendly SL pitch a "greentop"? If that's the extent of your beef cool, doesn't change any of the pertinant facts in the slightest

I didn't say that it didn't turn. It was deliberately prepared to be as different from the Test pitches as possible. That's all that matters.

The only reason anyone is trying to argue against this is because they have an agenda

Never seen a spicy pitch like this in Australia. They dished out a similar pitch against Pakistan in 2009, but even that turf was not as unplayable as this one.

No . Are you having agenda against Aus Team ?
Don't know if you are referring to me but if it is, then I certainly did not mean it to be against the Aust team. Ever since Ahamadabad/Galle got called out, people (mostly from those regions) seem to jump in to any wicket that helps quick bowling which is fine but then there are shitheads like testfan only pop in to troll without context which can be pretty annoying.

Anywho my take on the whole pitch thing as I already said

1. Its certainly not doctoring (If it is then its very very stupid doctoring) because they almost lost. South Africa has a sensational attack so if anything, Aust need to nullify that by having a good batting wicket which may turn later so they can turn to Lyon (who imo is vastly superior to Maharaj). That was how they used to beat RSA with Warne and McGill back in the day

2. Is this as bad as Ahamadabad/Galle? well I don't think it is simply because it is good fast bowlers getting wickets here. If say Nathen Astle ran through Aus, I'd concede it is equal to Root or Clarke taking ludicrous hauls. That being said, its not good for test cricket to see a game ending in 2 days so while it was fun, I think they need to tone it down a notch.

The fact people still think this is true is highly amusing....

If Travis Head can figure out how to bat in Asia he could become one of the greats

He's played some really insane knocks over the last couple seasons
