And neither are normal SL wickets tbh .My dude, prepping a deck like this when the opposition is packing 4 quicks is not “doctoring.”
We all thought it would be last year after the pitches we got for the first two games, but it turned out to be the liveliest MCG pitch in years (which to be fair seems the norm now in Test matches there after they got dinged)Are we going to go back the other way and get an MCG road after this?
It makes perfect sense . Can’t beat SA on normal wickets at home . Make a lottery wicket then . ?This doesn't make any sense
isn't this a bit of a reverse causality deal though in that whether we take one spinner or ten on the plane to india doesn't change whether or not they're doodling their pitches to benefit their bowlers more? the premise of this argument sort of feels "spinner cricket not real cricket"My dude, prepping a deck like this when the opposition is packing 4 quicks is not “doctoring.”
I'm asking (again), how is this pitch helping Australia?Ok I don’t believe that this wicket is doctored .
But since I am arguing with a 10 year child I will say that Aussies have doctored this wicket because they haven’t won a live Test at home against SA in last 17 years .
No one said normal SL wickets were doctored, that makes no sense. You still don't know what doctored meansAnd neither are normal SL wickets tbh .
this is a red herring though because the real question here isn't whether or not the pitch is doctored to benefit australia, rather whether or not this pitch is for pace bowling what a nagpur vs sa style pitch is for spin bowling, and thus a "bad pitch"I'm asking (again), how is this pitch helping Australia?
They would rather have a good batting pitch that would take turn later on. They have the bowling to get the 10 SA wickets on any wicket. Out of all the wickets, this is the least doctored type pitch for Australia because this will even the contest
No they're 2 separate discussions happening simultaneouslythis is a red herring though because the real question here isn't whether or not the pitch is doctored to benefit australia, rather whether or not this pitch is for pace bowling what a nagpur vs sa style pitch is for spin bowling, and thus a "bad pitch"
