It's just occurred to me that Harmer has played as a second spinner for SA in England,Australia and twice at home. Don't think that's happened before since 1992. He did run through Bangladesh with Maharaj but there are two spin bowling all-rounders (Linde and Muthusamy) back in SA who would have actually aided the balance of the side more than him. I'm just convinced Elgar is no good at this captaincy and selection thing.

I disagreed with your assertion of Maharaj being better than Lyon before the series, but to still try to claim that looking at their respective performances this series is utterly insane
