Do we know any more than that?
PCB being a PCB.. that is the best explanation that can be provided.

Younis Khan had his issues with certain players like Mallik and Misbah who he believed were not performing to the best of their abilities and not listening to their captain.. He prefered players like Fawad Alam who he believed deserved more chances.
Mallik is a very powerful man with powerful contacts and ultimately Younis lost his favour with the board.
Mohammad Yousuf and co had their problems with Mallik aswell..
For details..read the threads on Pakistan cricket issues..

Basically all three Mallik, Yousuf and Younis were banned.
Younis's ban was lifted but PCB still wont pick him despite the fact that he declared his availability.
Yousuf never appealed his ban.
Mallik used his powerful contacts to get the ban removed.

You can't tell, cricket has changed a lot.
It hasn't changed so much that Smith and whoever his partner this week is are better than Morris and Barnes.

It hasn't changed that much that Amla > Bradman, or AB de Villiers > Lindsay Hassett.

Lindwall at least equals Steyn and Miller as good a bowling all rounder as Kallis is a batting one.

The SA bowling support cast to Steyn is ******** compared with Johnson, Johnston et al.

Tallon and Boucher cancel each other out.

SA aren't even definitively the best side atm. That mantle probably belongs to India. What Bradman and Co would rack up ahgainst the Indian attack doesn't bear thinking about. They'd never get bowled out. FMD, I've near fallen off my seat thinking about Zaheer Khan bowling at Bradman, and the latter was 40 in 1948.

It would be a slaughter if any of the team playing now played the Invincibles. You'd need the mercy rule. Be embarrassing.

haha...exactly my sentiments if Pakistan score more then 150 in these conditions I will sell my house and live on the streets for the rest of my life and Asif should start juicing and start bowling again at 82-87 which he use to pre ban.
Could be tight.

TBF Bangladesh were a more settled team playing in slightly easier conditions against a weaker attack.
conditions easier? agreed

weaker attack? I don't agree. Swann and Anderson who won the Ashes were there..and its not like Finn and Shahzad bowled badly. Surely they are not inferior to Shane Watson?

I'd probably take all 3 of Australia's main seamers in this game ahead of Anderson, Finn and Shahzad. Watson as 4th seamer is the equivalent of Trott so I know which I'd rather have there.

Agree with most of what you say.

But no one can tell conclusively that how bradman and co would do on a rabid turner with Spinners bowing from both ends continuously and bowling dossras, googlies and whatnot.

I'll be honest, surprised the delays haven't been longer/more frequent given the forecast I saw two days ago.

And Watson best test figures are now better than Flintoff's

Plus he takes his wickets at a lower average

Obviously, he's a better bowler

Watson! WAmfG!

Will be interesting to see us bat again. Predicting a score of 300+ with Clarke to ton up and Watson to score a brisk 30-odd. We'll see though.

Why do people keep saying that Asif used to be an out-and-out pacer - I don't ever recall him pushing the speedo beyond around 87mph and even that would be only rarely.
