Iqbal had expected to be in the Pakistan squad for the looming Test series with England this summer. He toured New Zealand and Australia last winter, playing in three Tests.
His blast at the Pakistan selectors after learning he had been left out of the touring party for England should ensure no requests for Bovey to release him for international duty over the next eight weeks.
"They have given me the shock of my life by discarding me without any due reason,” Iqbal said at the time the squad was announced. “It is pure victimisation and nothing else.”
“I've played as a replacement player for the last nine years.
“I've scored even in difficult conditions though the chances I was given were few and far between.
“I'm young and fit and have matured now but they have just discarded me without any fault of mine. Such treatment of players like me, who are loyal to their country, will dishearten the next generation of cricketers.”
will not surprise me if he gets sent mid way during the tour this bastard seems to have serious connections and is using them to his fullest to show in the media ho he has been mistreated.Interestingly apart from Younis and Fawad Alam every tom, dick and harry have moaned about their non selection probably these are the only two guys who deserved to be in the side.
The guy has played 26 more Tests than he should have.
Hopefully - the way they went through the NZ and then Australian summers, you could just see that they just cared less and less. It was sad to watch because for the first couple of tests in NZ they looked like a good growing team. Then after that 2nd Aussie test, they just fell over.Pak hinting a better fight this time around......good win against Essex....
thought they were pretty decent in NZL lost a close game won a convincing one and battled to get the 3rd draw,In Aus they were hopeless.Hopefully - the way they went through the NZ and then Australian summers, you could just see that they just cared less and less. You mean the rain saved them in the third. Considering the strength of the NZ side they weren't all that impressive in NZ either and were lucky to walk away with a drawn series.thought they were pretty decent in NZL lost a close game won a convincing one and battled to get the 3rd draw,In Aus they were hopeless.

Its not a given but they were going along quite nicely before the rains came. Yousuf himself said they were lucky. It was a lucky draw to keep the series all square, no ifs whats or buts about it.Nope they lost a close one and won their win convincingly. There were still 130 to win so its not a given NZL would have won and they did display rear guard when they were 250 behind in their 2nd innigs so its harsh to call it a lucky draw.
A drawn away series against any top 8 is a decent result especially given that this is not the same Pak that use to **** all over NZL.
I'm a NZ fan, and the only difference between us losing that series and not was Shane Bond in the first test. If it wasn't for Bondy - we would have lost that test - lost in Wgtn - and had that nice old, now traditional, draw in Napier. Pak were lucky to get away with that test, but sheesh it was hard work,Its not a given but they were going along quite nicely before the rains came. Yousuf himself said they were lucky. Oh, and give my regards to the past while you're living there.A drawn away series against any top 8 is a decent result especially given that this is not the same Pak that use to **** all over NZL.
huh? what living in the past when I am basically admitting that this is a ****e side and a 1-1 away result in NZL is decent for them and yes Aus will clobber them.Oh, and give my regards to the past while you're living there.
Back to THIS Pakistan team vs THIS Australian team - would love to see a close contest, but can't see much more than a very Australian dominated series across both formats. Especially with what Tait is doing. Ow.
Good luck 'Stan.
Only if you're working hard to make sure you turn your form around. The Law of Averages isn't quite the same as 'The Guide to Advanced Transfiguration'.The best thing about being in awful form is that you know a good series is around the corner..law of averages...
