*Official* Australia vs Pakistan in England

Completely disagree.
1st apart from Bradman himself, most Aussies of 99-07 are better.
Could've been worse I suppose - at least you've acknowledged that Bradman may have squeaked into the 1999 lineup. Obviously hacks like Lindwall & Miller wouldn't get a look-in ahead of Lee, Kasper and even Gillespie.

I really can't see how you can.

Australia between 99-07 have won 16 consecutive Tests TWICE! Also not to mention 3 WC's.

Now even worth comparing tbh.
Hard to compare across eras, tours are a lot faster and professionalism keeps the team together for the majority of a year.

That's why I said "most".

While comparing the WI of the late 70s and 80s and Aus of 00s is purely down to a person's opinion, I don't see how anyone can claim a team to better than the Invincibles.

Play has resumed and Johnson has got Amin out immeadiately.

Umar Akmal at the crease now and this should be interesting..

Looking forward to seeing Umar Akmal bat in a Test match environment against a decent attack with conditions slightly favouring the bowling side.

Salman Butt looked good so far, strong through the point/cover region and it may depend on him to get his side close to Australia's total.

It was always going to be a tough ask for Pakistan's two debutants coming in at 3 and 4, and so it proved.

Surely there's been a thread recently covering Invincibles/70s80sWindies/00sAussies? I thought we were discussing real time events...

If Akmal gets out sometime soon it could get reeeeeeal ugly.

Johnson's certainly found much better rhythm than he did on his last trip to Lords, in 2009. Bowling consistenly over 90mph now with good direction, and has been unlucky not to snare Butt in around the vacant 4th/5th slip region.

When Butt plays a forward shot it looks weird, like the bat recoils way more than it should. Almost like he isn't using his bottom hand at all.

Wow, that was an epic fail right there. Good bowling there, right on the right line from ball one.
