Come off it; he didn't accelerate at all until it was a foregone conclusion we were losing the match. This was poor for the match situation and disputing that is pointless.Legitimately a decent knock. Fair rubbish being posted in here.
Why is he playing ahead of Ronchi in LOIs?Haha, BJ's career strike rate is 68. It's not 1992 son!
The love Kane gets is ridiculous, he can't do no wrong for Kiwi's.Come off it; he didn't accelerate at all until it was a foregone conclusion we were losing the match. This was poor for the match situation and disputing that is pointless.
This is a defeatist attitude around "Well let's make it close before we actually have a go" which is endemic in NZ cricket and needs to leave the game ASAP because ultimately if the guys continue thinking Neesham and Williamson batted well considering the match situation, we're going no where fast.Actually not a bad innings from Kaneh in the end. You could say that he didn't score anywhere near quick enough to win the game, but the pace at which he would have had to go at in order to win would have been virtually impossible to maintain. He did what he could with what he had at the other end.
Because Ronchi's been unbelievably bad for the last 18 months. Why is he playing ahead of Ronchi in LOIs?
. . .Legitimately a decent knock. Fair rubbish being posted in here.
hehThat's a really bad 81 considering the circumstances.
He averages 36.5 from 21 innings opening at a SR of 80 excluding Zimbabwe... He batted in some really weird scenarios at the start of his ODI career iircAverage of 28 @ a SR of 75 after 39 games if you exclude Zimbabwe.... those numbers would be considered horrible stats for a batting A/R let alone a damn opener..
Coz Ronchi's been dreadful since the beginning of the 2015 world cupWhy is he playing ahead of Ronchi in LOIs?
And they dont have any other option?Because Ronchi's been unbelievably bad for the last 18 months.
He and Neesham at 2 down for most of the innings did not seek to accelerate at all until there was nothing except "You must get two or more every single ball" left for the NZ batsman. That's not what we needed from him or Neesham, and being that he's the captain, it's extremely poor that they left this so late to push hard.Yeah exactly. KW's innings was pretty much what we needed from him - it's the big hitters at the other end that we've lacked.
EDIT: replying to Athlai.
Agree, and it becomes difficult to fit both Santner and Watling into that lower order when neither are explosive either (unless Santner gets easy half volleys which, like a lot of tall left handers, he may hoist into the stands).Williamson and Santner both capable of striking at 120, but not really the type of players who will strike at 200. Needed one of the Colins to do that.
Latham as keeper, although he's mud in ODI cricket too.And they dont have any other option?
So what instead he should have made a run-a-ball 15 and then been caught at mid on?This is a defeatist attitude around "Well let's make it close before we actually have a go" which is endemic in NZ cricket and needs to leave the game ASAP because ultimately if the guys continue thinking Neesham and Williamson batted well considering the match situation, we're going no where fast.
