I like the idea of this as a future move but I think at the moment he doesn't have the variations required to be able to do it; he should almost model himself on Faulkner, using change ups, cutters and such to make himself a harder proposition to hit.

not all doom and gloom like some of you were. neither side is taking this remotely seriously. todd astle is in a limited overs squad ffs. if anything they figured playing fringe cricketers or newbies like he and CdG against Aus is better than them mucking about in the Georgie Pie T20. Surprised they didn't bring Jeet Raval over for some experience against starc and haze tbh.

henry suffers from having bowled to the likes of papps and how too often i feel. his stock ball is the perfect delivery to the nz front foot opener but a bit too short for tests.

That's only been something in the days of Williamson and Taylor at 3 and 4 in my view. They both have a tendency to get stuck at a time that we should be ramping and accelerating up.

Prior to that, with Astle, Styris, Fleming, etc - we were great at setting totals.

fleming himself says this is factually incorrect. latter era fleming's side were excellent chasers and often wobbled when batting first, so fleming always chose to chase
