Pak will lose, BUT what a fightback!

However, I can't see Pakistan's batting getting much more than 330 in two innings let alone one.
That was dumb really!

It was really good to see Pakistan fighting back, Saqlain and Akhter were superb.Akhter took 5 wkts in just 15 balls! And all this against the best batting line up of the world, i think only Akhter could have done that!

Pakistan will lose because their batting line up is totally inexperiance, on top the wkt is taking turn and Pak batters doesn't handle Shane as affectively as the Indian batters does.Had Anwar/Inzi/Youhanna been in the team it would have been a different story, still its good to see a second string side giving Aussies a tuff time.Top stuff from Saqi,Akhter and Faisal!

Yeah, a wonderful fightback by Pakistan, but i agree with u over the outcome of the match, Pak will most probably lose the test match.316 is near impossible for a very inexperianced batting line up on a pitch that is taking turn, on top ur openers are useless.
I think the team selection wasn't good atall.Danish should have been in this match, why doesn't Waqar have any faith in his Leggie? Imran Nazir is hopelessly out of form, at such a time its best for the batter to be dropped, not only its good for the team but for the batter himself.Taufeeq have been a failure at test level, can't expect much from him.I hate to say this but it would have been better had Pak gone with Afridi as an opener,he could have provided some quick runs and could have been usefull as a bowler too.
Anyway, atleast Pak have shown that they can put up a good fight even with an inexperianced team!

Its not a foregone conclusion just yet that Pakistan has lost the test match. Its ovioulsy a tough ask, and Aus are the clear favorites, but the first few session are vital, if Pak can survive them without losing many wickets we could have a match on our hands. First things first, I think its most important if the Pak openers can survive the AUs opening attack.

One thing going in Pak's favor is that they have momentum goin on their side, and they obvioulsy have not taken the appraoch of a defeated mentality right from go, which could have been expected of a young team against the mighty Aus.

Why isnt Imran Farhat in the team? He is a talented player.

Agreed, but i'm too nervous about ur openers, maybe they will prove me wrong

That is praise worthy, indeed they have shown good fighting spirit

He should have been in the team, though he didn't score much in a practice match against WI, but then even faisal and Nazeer failed in the match and yet they got the nod!

Well. The pakistani batting line up is doing well. 90-0... hahaha...
warne got caned for 12 off his last over.
looks like we were all wrong about this one...
not gonna count aussie out though. i could end up the one looking dumb. but its not looking good for aussie. the batsmen certainly don't seem to be under pressure, but nazir just got one on the head from lee and there is worry about him. if he has to retire aussie may just be able to grab a few and put the pressure on.

Warne takes his first wicket, nazir. Razzag batting at 3- is this normal? seems weird to me but i may be stupid? :alien384:

He's batted at 3 lots of times esp in ODIs.
He's seen as a cricketer who can simply block for long periods of time, or hit out if needed. Accordingly they send him at 3 or at 7 or so.

what pisses me off is brett lee he single handedly handed over the advantage to the pakistan batsman by bowling half voleys ad long hops.

He can bowl at 150+ kph and swing the ball milles why the **** doesent he bowl a good line.
there is no reason he cant bowl as well as Shoib did if he gets his line and length right.

Lee is useless. I was wondering why he was in the Aussie side seeing his overs on cricinfo. Razzaq comes in to bat, in the first over he faces lee makes him play only once or twice.

yes. so far razzaq is coping ... obviously struggles though.
oh dear. i just checked back at cricinfo, razzaq has just got out lbw to warne. commentators curse!

Shoiab

says that he was inspired to perform the way he did by Matt Hayden's behaviour.
Apparently Hayden ridiculed him and provoked Shoiab to bowl at his best, and show each batsman the way to the pavilion. Anyone else hear of this?

Shoaib is a loud mouth.... that's his style.I love to see him bowl when he is on fire and that's all I care about. He always keeps on ranting that I am the best in that put-on accent but I think most cricket lovers won't mind as long as he can produce such devastating spells as the one on Saturday.

Well 179-3. So... 137 needed with 7 wickets in hand.

This one's on a knife-edge.

There's a lot resting on Younis Khan and Misbah-ul-Haq now. If they can put on 50 or 60 then it should be Pakistan's, but if Aussie can get 2 or 3 quickly then it's curtains.

Come on Pakistan! - Prove me Wrong. 330 in two innings... Shows what I know :D

I said at the end of day 1 that there was 'a lot of cricket left in this'.

Now at the end of day 4, I will go as far as saying 'there's a lot of cricket left in this'.

First hour holds the key, I reckon. 19 overs until the new ball.

Have we any TV coverage in the UK (say on one of the Asian satellite channels?)

It certainly was a brilliant spell from Shoaib. The balls to Mark Waugh and Gilchrist were just about unplayable. Steve Waugh got caught shuffling across and his ability to handle quality very fast bowling must be a worry. The swing was the key for Shoaib.

Brett Lee in comparison is struggling. Not much movement so the batsmen are getting into line and using his pace to get the power.

The test is evenly poised. Warne will be the key but the other bowlers must give him some support. It can't just be a one man show. Pakistan will win otherwise. McGrath has been tight but needs to get wickets.

U have already been proven wrong:lol:, irrespective of the result, Pak batters have already scored nearly 500 runs in two innings.
I said ur comments were dumb because u have never seen the batters playing the present test match as except for Younis all are new commers, as such passing any judgement on them was stupid.

Akhter's loud mouth annoys me, he says he the best pacer after taking 5 Aussie wkt, going by the same theory Harbhajan must be the greatest spinner around these days!
