*Official* Australia v England post-Ashes ODI series

Plunkett is increasingly injury prone and bowling only low to mid 130s when I've seen him in last 8 months. Shame because he's been very good in the last couple of years and he offers that bit down the order too. Gonna be pretty hit or miss whether he makes world cup at his advanced age imo.

I see it was the optometrist’s. About 200metres from here. Was up in Woolies earlier but didn’t even notice.

I should have ducked out to the scg actually, on my way back from the pool and the shops

between this and a couple of other cases, I feel like the 'soft signal' is really "did the fielder celebrate confidently ? If Yes, give soft signal as out. Otherwise give soft signal as not out"

I’m not sure I really see the purpose of a soft signal tbh.

All it does is shift the onus from the third umpire - who can watch 1000 replays from different angles - to the field umpire, who obviously has no ****ing clue what carries.

hahaha that’s bullshit. hey i was thinking this during the melbourne test with the khawaja catch, is the ‘soft signal’ in the rules anywhere or is it just something that’s meandered its way into the game?

This whole "soft signal" thing just makes no sense in the context of contentious catches. The field umpire clearly has no idea what's happened so why would their opinion be taken into consideration?

I like how that was given by looking for ages at replays where the ball wasn't even visible
