I really want him to.This is it for Young, either make runs here and show your class or forever be known as a what could of been
I disagree, I think they try too hard to grind sometimes. We dug some deep holes on tour in particular. I do wonder if part of the reason Latham and Young throw away so many starts is they use up all their energy getting to 30.I really want him to.
But I fear the culture installed by McCullum during his tenure of "just enjoy yourself bro, go down swinging when you lose by an innings or 200 runs, it doesn't matter bro, as long as you sock some dingers" still floats about and there isn't much grind and fight in mindset of a lot of the black caps
I don't reckon tbh. Young tried hard to see off difficult bowling in the first innings. He found a way of randomly getting out, which is very Will Young too, but didn't show a lack of application. It was one of the better 9s in history tbh, not quite top tier but at least an ATVG 9.I really want him to.

Wasn't taking about Young specifically, just the mindset. We've got 2.3 days to chase this so you literally don't need to be chasing any balls not hitting the stumps. Just have to be sensible.I don't reckon tbh. Young tried hard to see off difficult bowling in the first innings. Luke Ronchi is our batting coach now too who batted in a similar happy go lucky style as McCullum so his advice to our batsmen may not be any better.I really want him to.
