Yeah and what has happened to people like Brian Murphey (who has quit cricket?), Andy Flower and Henry Olonga (who has more guts then Andy) etc. I hope they dont lose somebody like Stuart Carlise or Mark Vermulean (he has talent and potential) as I think they are good cricketers.Langeveldt said:To be honest, its sad that banning the ZCU will make no difference to the situation of Zim...
I used to support the ZCU, but lately things have just been getting so stupid, and now like most people I am calling for a team i really like to be banned
In an ideal world, ZCU would get banned, and the players would be able to forge a living overseas playing cricket or whatever, then post Mugabe, hopefully some sort of normality would be restored... And hopefully the Olonga's and Flowers of this world will be back in Zim maybe coaching or something....
However, we dont exactly live in an ideal world...
I think that they will lose the lot. The talk is that 15 senior players are going to sever their links with the side.Craig said:Yeah and what has happened to people like Brian Murphey (who has quit cricket?), Andy Flower and Henry Olonga (who has more guts then Andy) etc. I hope they dont lose somebody like Stuart Carlise or Mark Vermulean (he has talent and potential) as I think they are good cricketers.
You just have to feel sorry for Heath Streak he carries his team and gets treated like that. Any young white cricketers growing up in Zimbabwe (if they havent fled to South Africa or England) could think "why bother?".
I remember reading when South Africa got banned, people like Barry Richards and co. protested their nation's racist government policies. Will the black cricketers of Zimbabwe do the same if they get banned? I hope so, but South Africa didnt have a racist dicator in charge.
Yeah you are 100% correct.luckyeddie said:I think that they will lose the lot. The talk is that 15 senior players are going to sever their links with the side.
You are quite correct that the young white cricketers will end up thinking 'why bother?' but the young black players will think the same thing too if they have any sense.
It's true that South Africa did not have a racist dictator - they had an entirely racist government, and for shame so many countries maintained sporting contacts with them for so long (yours and mine were the worst offenders). The same should not happen with Zimbabwe.
Stop the tours.
Bring back Brighton Watamba (sp).Langeveldt said:Guess I could shove Mluleki Nkala in...
And for the first time, his name looks good on the teamsheet!
Stand up, Norway. Your time has come.age_master said:yeah not much of a team, they wouldn't even stand a chance against a few non test playing nations
If they keep their mouths shut and keep playing in the Logan cup, nothing will happen to them... Its not a black white issue.. Look what they threatened Henry Olonga with??! Its a case of putting up and shutting up, or getting out, and it doesnt matter about the colour of the skin...Neil Pickup said:There are several white lads in the 'A' squad - what'll happen to them, I don't know.
I would have Strydom above Taibu.Neil Pickup said:Possible Zimbabwe 14 (blacks and whites who played in the Logan last round)

Good idea, though. Get Zimbabwe to play with 14.
Imagine how much better it would be if Cricket Australia had any moral backbone and were calling for Zimbabwe to be boycottted or suspended from ICC.SquidAU said:it's terrible what is happening with the Zimbabwean players. Even Bangladesh will give them a sound thrashing with the team they may pick......imagine what the Aussie's will do to them?
