Hmm WI bowling is unimpressive, i think Aussies are going to pile up a big total against such a innocuous attack.

Actually, I thought the West Indian bowling was pretty disciplined. The Aussies just played aggressively. Lawson was quick and aggressive and Collins and Drakes were tight in line and length. Dillon didn't get into rhythm at all though.vandemataram said:

There was an interesting comment from Steve Waigh saying that the WI score of 237 is equivalent to 150 in Australia given the size of the grounds et al.

Who was the genius at the ICC who came up with the stupid rule stating that if a specialist wicket-keeper is injured then he cannot be replaced with a fielder outside the original XI?
Looks like Drakes is the only bowler who has managed to contain the Aussies as well as take wickets. The Aussies are running away with this game and other than a very impressive Lara miracle(Chanderpaul notwithstanding), I don't see anything(of course there is always a chance of rain) which can prevent an emphatic Aussie victory.

Another shocker by Asoka DeSilva. As Mikey Holding just said, someone has to look into these decisions by Asoka, the ICC has to look into it. These are some of the worst decisions I have ever seen, and all of them against one team....shocking!

I have always thought that Asoka De Silva was no good even as an ordinary umpire, leave alone the elite panel..... ICC should throw him out of umpiring completely.Mr Mxyzptlk said:

I haven't seen that series between Eng and SL, but I have seen him enough from 1999 or so, to support my opinion of him being a third rate umpire.Rik said:

I think that his (de Silva's) general performance in this game has left an awful lot to be desired.
Anyway, back to the game.....
What a match we've got now. Ganga's performed admirably between lunch and tea. A few rash shots, a couple of lucky escapes but he's not dwelt on any of his mistakes. Every time he's ****ed up, Lara's come down to give him a talking-to.
As far as Lara's concerned, what can I say that hasn'r already been said? Colossal.
I'm looking forward to sometime tomorrow morning (perhaps) with the Windies thinking they want a few more runs, then we could possibly have Chanderpaul and Ridley Jacobs batting together - both with runners.
Hilarity ensues.

Somehow I think not. It looks like he's given each bowler about 20 overs regardless of weather they are getting smashed around or not.
I look at the scorecard and see a team totally on top of the bowling. As for the century, I have said many a time it is not his batting that is affected, it is the team which is.
