The harshness of the Aussies shows, Harvey the sole match winner yesterday, vital runs at the death that were the difference in the end and 3 wickets in 3 overs to get Aus back in the game..... Today his a poor little Drinks carrier
The reason why he didnt play in today/last night's game was because he's got some sort of strain so they just decided to rest him.

Yeah I found that out later on in the coverage

Aussies winning second ODI, Powell top scoring with 32 off 42 balls with 6 fours..... He was also joint second highest in the first ODI with a run-a-ball 37.

Wow. What an achievement. Lol.

The boys let me down today. Samuels doesn't look like scoring a run recently. He's in horrible form. The positives are the good innings from Baugh jr. and Omari Banks. Both played quite well. Collymore has impressed me in the two ODI's so far. He's been economical and smart in his bowling. IMO, he should be given a run in Test cricket again as he is one of the few West Indian bowlers who seems to be able to swing the ball consistently, as he showed in the Carib Cup this year.

anyone else find this one day cricket repetive and just pretty plain boring.

the ironic thing, if it weren't for one day cricket then test cricket would be on its last legs. :(

Australia and England are really the only countries that get any good crowds for test cricket, and I think England may only really get them during the Ashes series.

The SAF-Aus in SAF produced crap crowds from memory last season?

NZ generally get excellent crowds at Wellington & Hamilton..Auckland & CHCH are usually poor though.

I think everyone just watched too much ODI's while the World Cup is on & for some its time to return to watching test cricket but there seems to be a shortage of it at the moment.

In India test cricket draws quite a huge crowd in the major centers which can pretty much beat any numbers in the centers in Australia and England. In the last test match at Eden Gardens, each day on an average saw a crowd of close to 40,000.In the last day of the match between India and Aus in Eden Gardens, there were close to 70,000 people which is unheard of, for even a world cup final elsewhere in the world.

The same holds true for Wankhede in Bombay or Madras, Delhi or Bangalore and even Mohali which is a fairly new test center.

Nah, i'm just not a fan of one-day cricket at all. Too many games which are just not memorable and forgotten within a week.

At least with test matches, I'm sure there is something memorable to take from at least 95% of tests, if not 100% of tests.

A_B,

at least thats good to see the crowds in India.

A sad, sad sight......

IMO, the Aussies aren't playing very well but for a couple of players but the WI team looks horrible!

They are seriously lacking in purpose in their batting, bowling, fielding and even their running. They are playing like they are tired of playing cricket and just going through the motions. Only 3 players have actually said to me that they want to play cricket and are having fun - Banks, Baugh and Collymore.

It's sad when the no. eleven batsmen is showing the team how to bat as Collymore did. He and Baugh were quite impressive. Collymore's bowling has been quite good too but very unlucky.

I think the only thing that is keeping Australia going mentaly at the moment is the ODI winning streak. They must be buggerd considering how much cricket they have played latley.

What a rotten debut. :( Poor Ryan Hurley. He bowled well, but his fielders let him down and he ended with 1/57. Then he was run out without facing a ball by Jacobs. Stupid stupid call. Poor guy, I really feel for him. :(

WI 290/5 (Lara 80, Hinds 79, Samuels 42[38])

Well played, but could've gotten more. Lara out to a really stupid shot which he had played and missed twice in the over already. He played well for his 80 though.

Bichel has Lara 7 times on the tour now (twice wrongly).

Australian bowling figures:-

McGrath....10-0-46-0 (3w)
Lee....10-2-56-3 (2nb, 1w)
Harvey....10-1-46-0
Bichel....10-0-67-2
Hauritz....6-0-38-0 (1w)
Clarke....4-0-25-0

25 Extras

I somehow feel it still won't be enough to beat the Aussies.

With Australia 66-3 after 15 overs, we just might be seeing the unexpected about to happen.

Saying that, Lara's just brought Sarwan on to bowl - that's surprised me. Sixth bowler to be used already.

Clarke in now. What price another *?

No Bernard or Hurley yet. Shocking.
Hurley hasn't bowled due to the fact he is off the field after injuring his shoulder while taking the catch to dismiss Maher

Lara is using some plan or other, after 12 overs Dillon had just started his 3RD! spell, all from the same end

My bad. Not really following the cricket except for checking the score every 30 mins or so. It's not showing on TV today...only radio.

Yep. He brought on Hinds to replace Dillon for an over after he had just bowled two overs.

9 bowling options (10 if you include Lara) in this match with Gayle, Samuels and Sarwan turning in very good spells. Sarwan turned a couple surprisingly sharply. We also batted to no. 9. I'm still not sure if this is the way to go in ODI's, but it worked today. :)
