What about the 3rd test? Will it go the way of the other two and result in yet another victory for the Aussies? Will the return of Sarwan and Jacobs make any difference whatsoever?

Yes, and no

I think Vettori needs to start producing some results..I know he's had a fair amount of back injuries, but he's now had about 4 or 5 years of international experience & the tag of being a promising spinner is wearing thin.

It seems just as he starts gaining form NZ finish a series or he gets a major injury which sets him back 2 or 3 months.

Damn ! .... Lawson just dropped Langer @ 6. That may well be costly for the W Indies. Aussies get off to another flyer as usual.

Australia 43/1 off 8 overs. Again its Drakes who gets the wicket. Hayden out for 27 off 30 balls.

Run rate down to 5 +

So Australia 113/1 @ lunch .... Langer 53 n.o.

When will the rest of the world learn ... When an Aussie gives a catch .... Take It, or youll regret dropping it for the rest of your life !

Well the selectors really fu....I mean messed up this time.

1/How can you drop Dillon....for Omari Banks?!? I think Viv and the boys are going off the keel...fast!!

2/Best is too young. Enough said.

3/To their credit (somewhat) they recalled Gayle.....too Tests too late however.

4/Baugh? I'm hoping that Jacobs is not fit, otherwise I have lost all faith the selectors....

I really don't understand dropping Dillon, he's the leader of their attack, ok he's not having a good series but he's been their best bowler for ages, one bad series does not a bad player make...

I couldn't agree more. Dillon has more Test wickets than all the current bowlers combined!!! What sense is it to drop him?!?

320 for 3, first day and yet another Ponting century! Lehman set for another.....dropping Dillon didn't do them any good, did it?

Lehman seems to be the Aussies most consistant batsman behind Ponting for this tour so far. He has more than justified his selection following Martyn's injury and on form would be favorite for 'Tugger's vacant spot when he eventually retires (if it does not take another couple of seasons).

The WI batsmen (Ganga, Lara & Chanderpaul) have done well so far to post centuries to match the Aussie innings in the previous tests in this series (not that it changed the results). Now they will again be under increased pressure to do so again to stay in the match & it will be a big test of the backbone of this team to see how they respond again.

Just looking at the scoreboard, it just seems like Ponting's invincible and the windies have nothing to match!:O

I wonder how different it could be if Ambrose and Walshy were here...I'm not suggesting anything...just saying it wouldn't be so...um...abundant...:saint:

Am I right in saying that Ponting has scored a century in all 3 tests so far?.

Now that for me defines a World Class player.

Coming off his century in the World Cup final as well. (And one against Sri Lanka in the Super 6's).

He has bowled to short like I said he would and may I remind you that YOU had a go at me for suggesting he would not have a good series because I though his length was to short.

You said he did well in Oz last time but he bowls a shorter lengh than he did back then.

Having said that droping him is very harsh he is still probably there best bowler.

Ponting : 523 runs at an avrage of 130.

IMO he probably has as much talent or more as any batsman in the world including Tendulkar & Lara.

Not many people know but Ponting was never coached as a young player untill he was about 16 and considering he made his test debute at 20 you can see how talented he is.

You should see him play golf to !! boy hes good.
