Surely this goes both ways? I mean, if memory serves, of the 4 tons that got him in the test team, 2 were in the 2nd innings of a match Tassie already had big leads in, one was on Alan Border Oval and the other was a very loose warm up match against India on Manuka Oval.

Looking at the full picture, many would have said "29-30yo journeyman with average history, had a **** start to the season, scored some gimmie runs in the 2nd innings in hardly the most trying of conditions. Man thats a lot of hate. Cowan is probably more aware of how lucky he is to be in the team than you would be. If you think about what he said his position is that any hundred he has scored is probably matched by a thirty on this pitch.

Harsh, because I totally agree with what he is saying having watched the majority of play throughout the entire series. The conditions have been difficult!

Yeah I agree. It's much more than just taking his poor scores on face value. A fair few of his dismissals haven't been much to do with the bowling or conditons, just poor batting.
