Wouldn't surprise me if Pattinson's back injury is somehow related to an altered gait after his foot injury, mind you I'm not exactly sure the nature and extent of it.

He was the surprise package of the recent four day competition, got the most tons of any batsman and was averaging around 50 every two innings before his last game, ended up second behind Deonarine in the most runs tally, never really pulled up any trees before but he's worked hard on his game apparantly and it seems to be bearing fruit now,
From what i've seen of him he's a Trott type of batter, builds his innings slowly and when he gets in he's tough to move, he's only 26 and i think he could be Shiv's long term replacement if he does well here.

If that's the case he needs to get into the English Domestic scene then even if its just at a club level at first because quite frankly the WIndies Domestic First Class system isn't much cop.
