So true. It's a flat pitch and rubbish attack.
A bit of credit to the Lankan bowlers would be nice, after all it's a flat pitch innit? It's a flat pitch and rubbish attack. Bet Hussey thinks all his Christmases have come at once since playing against Pakistan against England when he looked all at sea against the moving ball. Still he's disciplined and applies himself well unlike some of his teammates. Perhaps he should have been made captain instead of the long-term underperforming Clarke. Perhaps also he should be moved up the order ahead of him.
Yeah, they haven't been too badI am not very happy to read some comments here. This Sri Lankan attack isn't world beating, but they've been quite disciplined in this test. They've generally bowled good channels and forced some errors.
True, Aus batsmen have played indiscreet strokes, but the bowlers have stuck to their guns. Calling this bowling performance "club level" is quite harsh, IMHO!
That's the crux of the matter though. The pitch looks flat, SL's bowling is the worst it's been in a long time and many of the Aussie batsmen have fallen on their own blades through dint of lack of patience, indiscretion etc. If SL deserves credit for making them impatient, so be it but test quality batsmen should better negotiate this situation.A bit of credit to the Lankan bowlers would be nice, after all it's a flat pitch innit?
In a series when Sangakkara takes the new ball, there have been debutants, part-timers and when an Australian debutant whose barely played first class cricket outbowls the host spinners, maybe not too far off the mark. They've regularly served up a buffet of rubbish. Even if in this innings they've shown a bit of discipline and stuck to line and length doesn't elevate them beyond lots of club bowlers who can do that without being too penetrative.I am not very happy to read some comments here.
