Riggins

International Captain
Gets out exactly to exactly the same shot almost every innings for the last year. Put it away.

Excited to watch Ricky bat.

FMD Watto has been so loose with the bat this series. Been caught slashing at innocuous balls and hitting them to the gully area a couple of times at least.

frankly both openers need a score in the 2nd Innings.

Watson is safe enough, but when your conversion rate is as bad as his is you can't afford too long without a 50. Hughes probably needs a ton in the 2nd dig to go to SA.

Publicly, he's the annointed one. They'll have to run with him for a while now after dropping Katto so spectacularly.
It'll be interesting to see if the new selection regime with their focus on rewarding performance above all else will reconsider that decision if Hughes continues to look woeful and Katich starts the SS season well.

So good that Clarke had the guts to tell Punter to drop down, he has won me over now. Reminds me of the tough call Steve Waugh made in his first series as captain, dropping Warne in 99.

By then they'll have been to South Africa so he'll have had plenty of chances what with playing the last few Tests of the Ashes, the current tour and that one. Be a stubborn panel to ignore it if his poor form continues. Dunno if Katto would have much of a chance, though.
