lol put him on an Australian pitch and he'll prove his weight in gold. It'd be a silly decision to not include him in the home test series, he is a match winner on a flat track

Khawaja is shot in all forms at international level I reckon. Cut our losses.
Absolutely what mr mister said. Just don't take him to asia ffs.

Just doesn't seem you can do that these days. If you're a batsman in the team you have to get picked always or never. Unless you're Shaun Marsh.

So many injuries for Aus right now lol

this T20 series and the ODIs in SA with Starc/Haze rested is going to be a terrible side. Might as well just send over the NPS to play . . .

Jesus Christ, there is actually going to be a new ball attack of Hastings and Boland in SA, isn't there? What a joke. Just don't play the tour. Add Tremain and it's three Victorian quicks, plus Finch and Wade in the side. Five Victorians. What could possibly go right? Answer: Nothing. Bring them home. These blokes will make Mick Lewis' figures in the 438 game look respectable.

they actually picked mennie for ODI cricket? Stupid or just lazy?

"we need to pick three new fast bowlers for the ODI series"
"eh just pick the ones that played for Australia A last week"
"but what about other better bowlers like Jackson Bird?"
"nah **** him I'm on break"

Khawaja dropped as well, very interesting

Bird ain't exactly crash hot in limited overs either, but he's better than Mennie. Who thought we'd be missing Coulter-Nile?

Edit: Also funny to see that Paris, Tye and Richardson have disappeared from contention. And that Behrendorff is never going to get a go, ever.
The selection seems to be based on 'they played a match last week, they must be fit, so why not?'.

Wow Australia's batting will be very thin for today's game then. Just Warner and Maxwell - others are either not good in T20 (e.g. Bailey) or can't play spin (e.g. Khawaja).

They are still favorites though imo, because SL doesn't have Mathews either.

I am almost 100% certain that they just went ahead and picked the exact fast bowlers that just played in the last Australia A game because it was easier than going through all the options

Head and Henriques are good T20 bats and our bowlers are decent bats, although they haven't shown it against the SL spin. From the 13 man squad I would leave out Wade and Boland.

Tye didn't have a great English county summer, Paris has a shin injury, Behrendorff is still recovering from a back injury iirc. But yeah, no Richardson is inexplicable.

Bring back Dougeh for one last hurrah, or invest in good ol' Can Do.

The One True AB being interviewed on Cricket Legends ahead of this game. Quality stuff from the great man as always.

Yeah, Behrendorff's injured all the time.

At least Worrall has been picked in South Africa, seeing as it's the wrong format. Reckon he might be a chance of going to England next time we're there.
