Looks a very decent side that. Be interested to see how the in-form Rudolph goes on his return to Test cricket. A stage befitting his runscoring over the last few years. Love that middle order of Amla, Kallis and De Villiers, and Prince there in case there is a wobble and he has to dig in to consolidate the innings.

Haven't seen massive amounts of Philander but I'm sure he'll make more of an impression than Tsotsobe would do. Tahir a more attacking option than Harris, not a huge turner of the ball but uses his googly well and may cause problems later in the game.
Yeah, the middle order is crazy good. Then obviously Smith is a bloody good opener and Rudolph has been scoring runs by the bucket load in domestic cricket for absolutely ages now.
Same with Tahir and Philander. The pair have absolutely bossed it in domestic cricket season after season, so it'll be interesting to see how they adjust to making the step up. The fact they're stepping up to be alongside Steyn and Morkel might help matters. What a pair.

Would be a pain for weather to make it a drawn series, we would suffer as we won the last series in SA, and our ranking and points would go down if we don't win......only day 2 of course but i would back SA if its a dicey pitch or bad weather conditions, Steyn would be unplayable.

Yeah, Cricinfo reporting that Siddle is marking out his run-up so you'd think that'll be the team.
No great surprises in there. Would have liked to have seen Cummins unleashed, but fully understand the Siddle selection.

Why pick Siddle and Johnson together again? It doesn't work, hasn't for a long time yet they still make the same mistake.

Hope Cricinfo are wrong on that one. Shame about the rain, looking forward to this series. Both sides have new players who i'm fascinated to see how they go, and of course Rudolph is back and I am praying he does well.

I love how Fox Sports refuse to show the toss or anything live and then claim to have the first look at teams. :(

So the Saffies get first go on this pitch with ball. Clarke saying he was going to bat first anyway!

Smith said Philander and Tahir get their debuts, otherwise it takes the usual look. No Rudolph ?
