Stock ball is about 133kmph to about 136kmph.

Has an effort ball that can get up to 140kmph in last seasons one-day comp.
Oh really? That's pretty handy then, especially if he has that effort ball. I thought he was almost medium pace.

Very keen to see him bowl given his tremendous record...hopefully he will be play in the tests.

So much for it playing like a typical Potch wicket. Elgar’s innings looks immense. Pro for Newlands!

De Lange seems to be lively. Was playing amateur cricket last week and getting a decent amount of tap but already pinged Clarke today. Interested to hear how quick he is, wireless guys says he isn’t that quick.

Doubt he will be chosen for the first test but he definitely brings another option as a line bowler (if you play Tahir as an attacking spinner) and being able to bat down the order. Gets good movement with the cherry as opposed to the white ball where he has struggled. Fitness issues have been his problem though.

Unbelievable isn't it! Good seeing ground, normally true even bounce, thin air of the highveld and a fast outfield. Seems strange to have 13 wkts in one day here. Heard there is a green tinge on the wicket though.

I haven't seen De Lange myself but I don't think he is express which is ironic as his nickname is Merchant.

Assuming he is in the mid to maybe late 130's but extracts a lot of bounce.

Should though. Home ground, can hold a bat and has FC form behind him. Last time Lopsy played FC, he was smashed all over the place by second division cricketers and the last time he played at Newlands in a test he took 1 wicket for 130 odd. Could Lopsy get Punter out LBW? He doesn't even swing the ball anymore. Only thing which holds Pro back is that he doesn't have many friends, he is the worst fielder in South Africa and he is fat.

I agree with you, mate. Vern should get the nod for what we mentioned above but I think people higher up will be very irritated with no black African in the side. Now I actually like Lopsy and I think he is a decent bolwer and actually bolwed better than that stats suggested against India last summer but to balance the team out out, Philander should get the nod.

What's his heritage then?
Mixed race. Black and white.

But not a pure black African and thats the joke of our government. But lets not get into politics on this thread.

McClaren bowling pies again.

I've always liked Shaun Marsh, I always wondered why he didn't get into the test squad earlier. Doesn't kick on at times like Watson but both good starters of an innings.

Parny is bowling quick these days, mid 140's at times. Hit Pup in the abdomen, he is being tested physically is Pup.

I can't recall too many long Clarke innings where he didn't get hit on the body/helmet/balls at least once.
