Fair bowling performance from Steyn and Parnell. Hopefully we can salvage something yet.

Best I've seen Steyn bowl in ODI's. Late swing at real pace = wickets.

South Africa might have to bat before lunch. That is a bit ****ty, why not just take an early lunch?
Forget lunch and play through

Hopefully, it will be finished early enough to put on some real entertainment for fans

Not Terrible
Haha powerplay? Would be shocked if they had more than 3 guys out of the inner circle for the whole innings.

How annoyed would Gibbs be? Finally gets a wide one and nails it to cover. I mean, hit the ball in that area, there won't be a lot of sympathy if you get caught but he'd be bloody annoyed, especially right before lunch.

SA still vastly in the ascendency, though.

Commentators salivating over Laughlin as if he's the first person to bowl a slower ball.

What do people think of him?

Whats wrong with Bracken?

This year he has been rubbish.
Yeah he has been a tad disappointing today, especially considering the amount of movement Parnell got. In contrast, Bracken has got the ball to do diddly.

Laughlin seems to be a canny bowler, maybe not a strike bowler though.

No Hopes at all today? I thought he'd been one of the better bowlers recently. I'm surprised Ponting didn't give him a couple of overs to see if he could do anything.

Game. Fantastic performance, Steyn and Parnell won the game in the first 10 overs.

Parnell for MOTM.

Play Warner over Clarke in the next match? At least he's exciting.

Seriously though, we need to get our ODI batting act together pretty soon, been all over the shop in the past two years (aside from an away series here and there).

Ideally would like to see something like this:

Marsh
Haddin
Ponting
Hussey
Symonds
Hussey
Watson

Haddin opening is not ideal, but better then him down the order. Watson at 7 is looking pretty appealing at the moment, pretty much the only Australian lower order player that can come in late and show some creativity (see last world cup). Not crazy on David Hussey at the moment either, leaning towards Ferguson there.

With Human questioning Parny about the pressures of international cricket, I think Parny will pull it off. He looks more mature than most 19 year olds.

Love the prospects of Parny and Lopsy. Then again, it's not the first time the Eastern Cape has produced some good fast bowlers.

North deserves a shot imo. Get The Prince in there aswell, obvs.
Agree.

Warner and Hughes to open against Pakistan in the UAE. The wickets are complete roads, give Clarke a ‘rest’, Haddin can drop down to six/seven whilst Michael Hussey apparently wants a break, so Ferguson can move up and get North in as the spinner. No need for Hopes.

Warner
Hughes
Punter
North
Ferguson
D Hussey
Haddin
Johnson
Siddle
Bracken
Laughlin
