Tonight once again shows why 20/20 is here to stay - great entertainment for anybody but purists

Im quite happy about Dancing Girls but BOYS?

How SA can ever criticise crowds in other countries is beyond belief

Well it is SA after all, there's probably a quota in place to allow prancing ponces the same opportunities as dancing girls.

Langeveldt to be killjoy in 5... 4...

I think tonight showed that genuine cricket skills do pay off in this form of cricket...bar the odd ball, it was pretty much the bad balls get punished and if you use your brain as a bowler you will dry up the runs and take wickets

Brett Lee is likley to do very well this tour with both bat and ball....

Michael Clarke probably should have been given a bowl - he bowled pretty solidly last sunday.

Gilchrist fails again in 20/20 games

Gibbs and Smith both find some form

Hall's first 3 overs must have been good

whoa what a game, i thought Australia were surely gone when Gilly & Ponting went cheaply but good little contributions by everyone else bar Watson in the run chase.

Hopefully Symo & Hussey are back for the ODI's so they can smoke South Africa..

Hussey should be back, Symonds depending on his hip injury. I'm picking Aussie to win series., although South Africa seem to grow another leg when playing at home and since they have Ntini, Nel & Pollock back they'll be able to compete a bit more.

Northern England's most exciting conniseur of the scrabble board calling me a killjoy? I was expecting you to come up with something like

"Langeveldt to start talking about Twenty20's importance now South Africa are winning"

but no, Dancing Boys? Oh Jeeeez... Lots of girls watch cricket in SA and I guess they need something there to make it interesting!

The overriding feeling I got watching the game was that I didn't really care what happened, but I think for a 20/20 game it was pretty good. Hall and Clark were the two bowlers who bowled with a bit of sense and managed to do alright for the format, while Smith and Gibbs were superb with the bat for SA. Katich played surprisingly well for Australia, and obviously Hogg and Lee were great. Lee making a fair push for all-rounder status these days.

Has Aussie test squad been named ?

If not, Gillespie and Kasprowicz should be first picks. It is obvious bowlers like Dorey, Clarke, Bracken and Tait are not international class ------ Kasper and Gillespie are past their best but still better than these guys.

SM Katich c Smith b Telemachus 39 42 22 6 1

Maybe someone should tell Katich that a ODI is a 20/20 match

The six he hit off Ntini was a very nice shot, saw it on SBS.

Argh, it makes me so angry when people mix up Stuart Clark (the bowler) and Michael Clarke (the batsman)-- obviously you're not the only one and probably not the closest follower of Australin cricket, but it just ticks me off for some reason.

Anyway, pointless mini rant over, I think Bracken should be in the test team because he can swing the ball a mile. All it'll take is another 7/3 in an international match for people to realise what he can do. I agree that Dorey and Tait should definetely not be in the team, at least not right now. While I don't really rate Stuart Clark that much, I have to admit that he has come off with some decent figures in the one dayers, but I do agree with you that he shouldn't be in the test team. All the same, I'd take him over Dorey or Johnson. I would, however, fully support the addition of Gillespie to the team for an attack of Lee-Gillespie-Bracken-Warne, but I feel it's just a bit too late for Kasper to get back in to the team.

he was actually batting quite agressively, maybe that century has gave him some confidence.

Are Bracken and Tait as good as Gillespie or McGrath in their pomp? Hardly. However, that does not mean that they are not Test-class. I really think, with the likes of McGrath, Warne and, to a lesser extent, Gillespie, people have been spoilt in recent years and have perhaps unrealistic standards. Bracken and Tait are Test-class - particularly when one casts an eye over other International pace batteries - but just not what we've become accustomed to, here in Australia.
