He wasn't kept for the first Test vs England, AA de Villiers played keeper and QDK was recalled for Cape Town. Vilas played in Jo'burg because QDK injured himself on the morning of the match.
Right. The two series were so awful I am misremembering some things.

You didn't have one in 2012 either and then 2014 came and it was the same story :p
Geez losing those series was heavy.

Maybe we should play all our Test Cricket in Australia, would probably make us more money than playing at home.

Playing India in Australia would make a TON of money, more than us playing the Windies at home.

Why the need to post again?

Pak might still lose to them though.

Btw congratulations South Africa. Well played. When was the last time a foreign team win 3 consecutive series in AUS?
West Indies apparently did it in their heyday and England did it once in the 19th century.

I didn't realise it had been posted already

Also, stop being so defensive, keep your mind on the series which is currently occurring, in which Australia are being made to look like amateurs, as if SL wasn't bad enough for them.

Really proud of the boys, really thought this would go to the fifth day. Was very surprised it was over when i woke up

From what I saw on that last morning session, the Aussie batsmen looked like they really lacked any clarity in their minds with regards how they were each going to go about their innings, this perhaps contributed to a couple of them being indecisive and getting caught in two minds, there looked a lack of confidence which presumably inhibited their stroke play and made them play at times rather cautiously, there looked an inability to play the moving ball due to some questionable techniques, they were a little unlucky in a couple of the dismissals, and finally it was a superb spell of bowling by SA.

Philander, Abbott and Rabada were absolutely spot on in their areas and strangled the life out of the Aussies, so all the above factors were brought about, or perhaps resurfaced, due to some excellent pace bowling.

Aussies will be fine, they have got 3 of the best players in the world in warner, smith and starc, hazelwood isn't far behind them, khawaja is international class, and their 3rd and 4th best quicks both seem to always be injured. the rest of them are all in such dire form they can't even contribute 20 let alone a decent score. They should try to get this team ready for the ashes next year:

S. Marsh
Warner
Khawaja
Smith
Lehmann
Head
Neville
Pattinson
Starc
Hazelwood
Lyon

Good on Smitteh for having a crack at some of his players too.

Sadly, Khawaja gets a pass mark, but his dismissal was probably the worst of the lot. Set batsman, testing conditions, good bowling and he played that shot. The horror of what followed masked his own awful shot.
