Looks like TPC got the shits with being bumped down the order. Fair enough too.

He's obviously decided to up his LO game, and it's becoming increasingly apparent with each passing day he's going to go past Kohli in a canter in these formats, just as he has in tests.

very possible tbh
He has to first get into the top 10 in either ODIs or T20s before thinking of challenging the batsman who has been number one there for a long time. And these 20s and 30s won't do. This is just like saying Mayank Agarwal will go past Steve Smith in tests because he hit a century.

Think that'll do for Wade and MMarsh in this team.
WADE replaced with maxwell, that was always going to happen even if wade went sicko mode, but at this point who replaces marsh? Noene else really stands out, domestically or internationally.

Firstly, Burgey's trolling you

Secondly, even if he wasn't, he's talking about the future. Not what has already happened.

Thirdly, even if he was talking purely about recent performances, over the last year Smith is averaging 51 in ODIs and 83 in T20Is. He's not even making 20s and 30s much.

Ftr I don't actually think he'll ever be as good as Kohli so essentially I agree with you, but you really didn't argue it very well

You don't need a standout to get an improvement as MMarsh, if he isn't gonna bowl, is legitimately not that good at this format. He doesn't have time to get set, which he has in ODIs which he's a lot better at, he's not really bowling, and he has basically two shots to score quickly and is so easily done by slower balls.

That's pretty nuts. Ofc apparently he's not in the four best batsmen (overall) in the world because he sucks at T20Is though /aakashchopra

Anyway this game is a good demonstration of what I was saying in the WC which is that Smith is probably as good a finisher as we have, so their refusal to send him out during the last 15 overs or so during the WC was baffling

MMarsh is great at hitting **** bowling which he showed in the BBL. That 90 off 40 balls he made was full of him bashing full-tosses and half-trackers into the stands. Putting him up against good bowling is another story though.

Been impressed by Smith's limited overs batting recently. Strike rotation certainly seems to have improved against spin and his boundary hitting game has always been underrated.

What I'm saying is that we genuinely don't even have a half decent option to replace marsh at 5 in this setup , even when he's not bowling he's better then the second pick spud options like Turner.

Classic logical fallacy. He's so good at "proper" batting and building an innings then he must not be as good at finishing the end of an innings as hacks like Marsh and Wade . . .

Genuine question, are Australia trying to copy England's ODI formula and use Smith in the Root anchor role?
