So was bringing Elgar on inspired captaincy or desperation?
Bit of both ?

With Morkel bowling poorly he was down 3. Vern plugged, Kesh had toiled & wasn't rewarded so probably had to look around for someone to put their hand up.

I guess I was expecting Markram before him.

Re: the Smith DRS, after all that commentator whinging didn’t the final replay show DRS to be correct?
It's the idea of umpire's call on impact. Most can see why there should be an unpire's call on a trajectory prediction (I can't btw), but an umpire's call on impact seems rather odd. Without the grey area, the impact of this delivery would have been judged in line.

Do we just start sharing the new ball with Haze and Cummins and wait for Stork to come on later?
Nah Starc can strike early
I'd love to see Cummins open with Haze
Easy option is give it to Starc but Smith has to be prepared to whip him off after 2/3 overs if he getting it wrong which does happen. His pace sometimes does for the opener so worth giving him the new ball in the hope he gets it right but when he doesn't get him off as soon as possible.

Well If Australian's are so bad at facing left-arm spin it explains how Steve O'Keefe has managed to average low 20s in his first class career

Also pretty sure Starc can tail it in to righthanders as well. Saw him do that against Pakistan

If I'm going to keep watching this I need Mitch Marsh to go bonkers. None of this batting properly ****

Dean Elgar has more than decent ODI figures as well: 2/67 of 16.

Maybe he is just a great bowler :-O ?
