On the Pak team discussion, @nightprowler10 @trundler and @Prince EWS - if you guys were anyways gonna play the uncles, I would have rather seen if Shoaib Malik can play as the #6/7 and asked him to chuck his doosras for a test, winning it and then producing the roady mcroads for the last two tests. Unfortunately, Rambo seems way too intent on scoring some imaginary points over the BCCI to look at what his team actually needs.

Also, is (3) really better than the uncles? Or is just as a #7 option that he is being discussed here?
(3) has a very good FC record and yeah would mostly be in it for his batting. Should only play as second spinner. He's very accurate and wouldn't do worse than Sajid. Hell, based on not doing any worse than anyone in the current team Faheem and (3) should both play and we'd have h4x batting like PEWS suggested. Playing Malik would be a bad idea mostly because he's not match fit I don't think.

Also, happy to see Naseem has done well. I've only been to watch about an hour a day, but I did see was him tightening up his L&L. Really hope this continues.

Also, is it my imagination or do I see a noticeable change back to his action in '19 vs what he was doing against England and NZL?

My thing with Nawaz is mostly that I'd like to see him get some chances.

His spells where he got Smith and Green have been the difference in the match so far. He’s been excellent

Small Thought: I think this could be young Swepsons last Test. He has always showed the "potential" but never quite reached it.

Yeah Bailey et al have already made it pretty clear that they'll give players that they've publicly backed for a while a pretty long leash.

Be interesting to see if either side can force a result. Has looked very flat at times, and genuinely kinda dicey at other times.

Whatever it takes!!!
Pitch takes a while to settle down in the spring mornings trundy. If its doing this in 30 mins time you have reason to be worried. Right now, not so much.

Based on whatever I have seen so far, Cummins seems to have no idea what to do with 2 spinners or how to use a spinner as the attacking option. He seems far more comfortable with the 4th seamer than the 2nd spinner. Hopefully he learns fast.

Why is Green bowling first up?
Apparently Starc was off the field for 30 mins yesterday, so had to do 20 mins on the field before he could bowl. That maybe why Green started today.

I would have still tried Swepson. Its risk-reward but still think game is in the balance enough to take that risk now for Australia. Could have gone back to the two seamers later on if Swepson kept dishing out half trackers and full tosses and half volleys.
