Why are NZ lucky to not have a player like Hughes? You are lucky NZ dont have any players like Hughes.
Why are NZ lucky to not have a player like Hughes?
Just saying.he doesn't look like a test match opener.
Because a player with so much promise as an opener but failing bar one or two innings would be mortifying. Why are NZ lucky to not have a player like Hughes?
You took a swing at me but hit Howsie, NZers are funny.Because a player with so much promise as an opener but failing bar one or two innings would be mortifying.
It would be like Jesse Ryder succumbing to his demons and never playing agian...oh...
I'm a big fan of the system tbh. The two big criticisms of bringing in a system like this were that Hawkeye isn't 100% reliable, and that it would take power away from the umpires. The system addresses both of those issues, needing more than 50% of the ball to be hitting, and that if there's doubt, the umpire's original decision is upheld. I think it's just about the best system we can get without completely alienating those not in favour of it.Regarding the reviews, I understand the idea behind going back to the umpire for marginal calls, but surely common sense must be applied. If you give one out that's barely clipping the stumps on hawkeye, then surely you can over turn a decision when the ball is whacking into the top of the stumps on hawkeye, no? UDRS certainly is consistent in holding up inconsistent umpiring.
I was agreeing with you.You took a swing at me but hit Howsie, NZers are funny.
YesWilliamson better than Hughes!!!!!!! haahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
Yeah, but it seems pretty silly that the third umpire can look at the hawkeye and go "Oh, that's more out that the previous review, if the umpire was consistent he should have given this one out as well. Oh well, not out."I'm a big fan of the system tbh. The two big criticisms of bringing in a system like this were that Hawkeye isn't 100% reliable, and that it would take power away from the umpires. iPhone app opportunity going begging, tbh.In an ideal world the on field umpire would be able to see the review and decide whether or not he was wrong.
Yes and no, the knock was a mixed bag. Good on him for bashing around a dejected Kiwi team but his knocks of late have all the hallmarks of a bloke desperately trying to score as many as he can before the bowlers wake up. That or he's hoping that he can settle by getting a few early boundaries away or that he'll split the field and take the pressure off. Sadly for him, the fielding captains aren't playing nice by keeping the field up, knowing he'll give several chances.Always very pleasing to see our batting standing up.
Which leads into an interesting situation with Watto coming back in. North and Hughes both mades runs and one has to get the chop, most likely will be Hughes which is a bit of a pity.
