I still believe he has alot to offer. You don't mantain an ODI average of 40 for 2 years and score a 150 against Australia and another 100 against SL if you're a hopeless bugger. He's just going through a bad patch, and hopefully like Hayden, he can get himself out of it with a few big centuries.... :)
Im not suggesting they scrap him forever, I just think he needs some valuable time in the crease in first class cricket.

In that situation last night, with only 2 wickets to go. If McCullum had tried to go for a 6, and got caught, I'm sure you would have been the first one to say what an idiot he was trying to win the game from the first ball.

No I wouldn't have. I never said go for a 6. That is just stupidity, but I would have liked to have seen him go for a boundary early in the over. It is just my opinion and it's what I said he should do at the time.

I think we should keep Hamish Marshall in for the next game, as Ming said he was looking alright before he got one that kept low.

Any news about Vincent's injury? He was in a bit of pain last night, hope he's right by Saturday.
Apparently it was just a bruise that prevented full movement of his leg. Sounds a bit soft IMO.

You ever inside-edge a ball onto your leg? If you have you'd know it hurts. A lot. Now imagine you did it from a guy bowling 150km/h+. That's almost a corked thigh, an injury which puts players in rugby out for some time. Definitely not a soft injury at all. I saw the injury and he smacked the ball straight onto his leg. It would have hurt a lot.

Yeah but did he really need a runner?
A ball at a significant velocity doesn't just bruise the top fatty layer of of your leg and tickle a bit. Something like that, like a corked thigh, would cause a deep-muscle bruise, especially since an elite athlete like Lou wouldn't have a lot of fat to protect it. Basically, the muscle will cease to function. So the answer would be a resounding yes. If anything, he should have retired hurt because he probably tore the muscle more by playing on it.

He will play plenty of domestic cricket this summer, along with all of the BCs. Not exactly a packed home international calendar this season is it? 4 ODIs against SL and a 20/20-3Test-5ODIs tour from the WI.

I'm assuming he won't play...still, quite unusual and unexpected. To be honest, from what I've seen of him, he's nothing special (at least, not yet), so this seems quite bizarre.
He's not bowled well this year (aside from against SA in Adelaide) but the reason for his selection can be summed-up in one word; potential. He's a far, far better bowler than what has been on display this season. Hopefully he can avoid injury enough to show it. He's a damn quick bower when he gets going too.

I remember hearing through the grape-vine that once when he was going through some back injuries, off 5 paces, he was clocked at 138km/h........ (!) Aside from raw speed, he can hoop the ball around too. As I said, if he could put it all together, he'll be a handful for anyone.

^It seems a little early for him to be selected to play international cricket though...then again, it is against New Zealand :D .

I would becareful when you decide to joke about one team's misfortunes. You're going to be without a number of players in a few years.

What about if, say, Mark Cosgrove got hit there. :p

The ball would have rebounded of his drumstick-like leg at Warp 5 and decapitated the boundary-rider on the mid-wicket fence.

It's just a joke man, just a joke...at any rate, we (I'm an Indian supporter if you didn't know) aren't exactly a wonderful team either.
