I know the roving army of Corey Anderson haters will jump all over this but why are we playing four other seamers with him in the XI? He's looked our quickest bowler all day todaypoint at the game) and he isn't getting pumped around like Wagner and Henry. Surely we could've got away with playing Sodhi here.

Sodhi is not a test standard bowler. He is awful. And anderson is a poor mans jacob oram as a test bowler. He is likely to do better than any of our terrible test spin options though. I simply see no point in nz picking a test spinner. We dont have anyone that's even average. They are all pathetic excuses for a test spin option.

I honestly think Craig would be a significant improvement over a 4th seamer here. I get that people don't rate him but variety matters, changing things up and potentially breaking this partnership could change the game. It's not just about picking the 4 best bowlers you can. Maybe if the 4 seamers were all exceptional, must pick players, but I'd much rather have a mediocre spinner here than Wagner.

With the benefit of hindsight of course, maybe if it was a greentop it'd be another matter.
