Would still prefer Franklin to Zaheer, tbf.
Yeah it's not so much that people didn't rate Zaheer when they said that; Franklin is just criminally under-rated. The fact that he hasn't played in ages due to injury makes him hard to rate at this point in time but I don't think Zaheer is conclusively better as such.

I can confidently conclude he's nowhere near as studly as Zaheer.

You have to admit that his captaincy was pretty good too.
But India would still probably have won without Dhoni. Could they have won without Mishra, or one of the seam bowlers? I am not convinced. Isn't that the definition of a man of the match?

Yeah, shocking decision to give Dhoni man of the match. Expected, but still shocking. Would have even preferred Gambhir got it TBH.

Would they have won without Dhoni?? I am not too sure. All his decisions were more or less spot on. And he led from the front. Batted as the game demanded in both innings. promoted himself in the second innings.

I still think we'll get a result out of this series (1-1 most likely). I'm quite confident our batsmen won't fall over so pathetically again, and Clark coming back in to the side will be a huge boost (so long as it's for Siddle, and not Lee). I called it earlier, that Hayden won't have a (positive) impact on this series at all, his batting yesterday can only be described as irresponsible for one of the most experienced players in the team.

Interesting comments from Border after the game. Funny time to rip into White given he actually looked decent at times, but I agree in essence - Ponting either has to actually use him as a frontline bowler or drop him for someone who he will.

Australia recently thrashed SL

I think you'll see a period where a number of teams of capable of beating the other (which, btw, is a good thing)

In fact, I'd back Eng to beat India in December - they have a much better bowling attack than either of the teams playing here
But that was before they had Mendis and in your home conditions wasn't it?Facing SL in SL with Mendis in their side is different by quite a bit, imo.

Indeed. I'd back Sri Lanka in Sri Lanka to cause Australia as many problems as India in India TBH.

That said, I still can't see anyone beating Australia in Australia.
