how many games Ambrose played in india ????

in pontings case if he faills this time around also it wil be 12 (think correct) test thats a huge number of games
None. He played India nine times, though, and ended up with an average of 38, completely anomalous to the rest of his career. This makes him no less a legend at all, of course- just as there will always be teams one excels against, there'll always be teams one struggles against, if for no other reason than it's a normal distribution. Whether Ponting should be classed as a great or not is debateable, but what i'd strongly disagree with is the concept that you can't be a great unless you perform against every team in every country.

Australia will line up as follows:

Katich
Hayden
Ponting
Hussey
Clarke
Watson
Haddin
White/Krezja
Lee
Johnson
Clark

Not happy, to be honest.

What else can be done! We just need to be content and expect performances from these. :)

I strongly believe Ponting will get all his forces together and will turn in to win!

He is fired up ATM

Whichever way that selection goes, one thing is for sure that a dire and undeserving player would get to wear the baggy green tomorrow.

International Vice-Captain
As a specialist bowler, yeah.
He's rubbish as are White and Krejza as bowlers...

In India it is necessary to have a spinning option, going into a match without one is foolish so i can understand why we'd play White or Krejza.

Casson is no better or worse than them so i can't see were the complaints have come from.

White should be selected as at least he solidifies our batting.

Indeed. Ponting is an all time great.. It is almost silly to be questioning that.. Where he ranks AMONG those greats is a different question and perhaps open to individual perceptions of the greats themselves, but I do think it is pretty lame to NOT call him a great when he has such a stellar record.. I understand the bit about flat tracks, bad bowling etc but at the end of the day, he is still doing much better than anyone else around today and that in itself should count for heck of a lot and having seen some of his best innings, you know he can very much hold his own amongst the other greats. He surely deserves to be in that bracket...
