***Official Australia in India***

Whatever it takes!!!
There is no chance Australia are gonna draw this game now, Clarke and Haddin might fall in the first hour of the game itself, leave alone lasting the whole day.
Not at all.. I think the chances are very bright that these two will bat out the day tomorrow. Clarke to score his first double century and Haddin to go past Gilly's best. The pitch is a road, the bowling is not good enough to test these two and they are looking like a million bucks out there...

Meh, there is NO CHANCE we will draw this. Anyone who has watched the past four days could tell you this. Even if our batting wasn't in the doldrums, the bowling is really, really good. Hope we can last a few hours and regain a tiny bit of respect though.

Am I living in a bizarro world where Bangladesh and Australia have switched sides? Aussie fans are hoping for respectability now? Come on guys. The Aussie lineup has way too much quality to not give them a shot.

I really think Ponting, especially as the team rebuilds, has got to learn to hide his emotions and not wear his heart on his sleeve so much. He's got to show younger, inexperienced team-mates that things are not spiralling out of control just because of a big partnership or a bad decision goes against us or because a bowler doesn't get to bowl when he wants. Showing that sort of control assumes great importance when the side as a whole is under seige from the opposition.

You're forgetting the guys to come aren't in the same class as the Aussie line up of times gone past.

White is in his debut series, Haddin in his sophomore. With him at the crease is a guy who is questionable in situations where he hasn't got a platform to score from, and a debut seam bowler who seems to be a throw back to the old school tail end batting styles.

The only things Australia has to their advantage IMO in trying to play for a draw is Lee's ability to hang around and Johnson being a wildcard in the batting stakes.

In fact, I'd go so far as to say Australia will not even score another run today, let alone go within a bull's roar of drawing the game.

I expect it to be over inside 3 overs

The problem is SS, the majority of that quality is sitting in the sheds. I'm not discounting the possibility of our lower order holding out for a draw. That said, at this stage, it's a long long shot, especially given how well the Indians have bowled. I can't just see them dropping their bundle whilst on top, and our very inexperienced lower order (Clarke & Lee aside) doing it easily.

Yeah, AWTA. The pessimists always come out in foce when Aus look remotely in trouble. Not only is there a chance the Aussies may bat out the day, there's still two Tests to go!

I know those who were doing the same thing during the 2005 Ashes series would say they were right but I do remember a lot of them coming out after the second Test, for crying out loud.

Mate, for Australia to get out of this there has to be an almost complete reversal in attitude, form, luck plus people will have to bat longer in tests than they've ever done before

Call me pessimistic but I dont think that is likely to happen

I can see India dropping their bundle at some stage (the "attacking" Dhoni had 5 men on the fence to Hayden with a lead of over 470  ) but 90 overs is a long time for predominantly out of form/ no talent tail enders to survive
